1. Prop 4 - Abortions for minors   (13 Oct 2008)
I know there are several girls from California. This important proposition is up for vote this year, and the Cali ladies will have a chance to vote on it. But anyone is welcome to put their 2 cents in! What do you think about this? BACKGROUND In 1953, a state law was enacted that allowed minors to receive, without parental consent or notification, the same types of medical care for a pregnancy that are available to an adult. Based on this law and later legal developments related to abortion, min...

She has little to no foreign policy experience, and has rarely traveled outside of the US....

5. Idea on Anti-Circumcision Legislation   (19 Oct 2008)
I'm not sure if this has been tried before, but why doesn't anyone try to sue the government for allowing doctors (even with the consent of parents) to circumcise him? Children do not belong to their parents, their parents are just responsible for their well being and it is thus the government's responsibility to insure that everyone, including minors, receives their human rights and is protected from harm. I'd always been curious what would happen if a family tried to circumcise their daughter...

On Fri, 10 Oct 2008 18:33:49 -0400, "J" <Jvisions@live.com http://www.citizenlink.org/clcommentary/A000008385.cfm Does Same-Sex 'Marriage' Affect My Marriage? by Bruce Hausknecht, judicial analyst Let me count the ways. How many times since the enlightened four-justice majority of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court judicially decreed same-sex "marriage" in 2003 have we heard the activists' challenge: "How does my same-sex 'marriage' affect your heterosexual marriage?" It wa...

8. (untitled)   (10 Nov 2008)
http://mediamatters.org/items/200811100003?f=h_top During the November 7 edition of ABC's The View, while discussing the passage of Proposition 8, the California ballot initiative amending the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage and effectively overturning the California Supreme Court's May 15 ruling that affirmed the constitutional right of same-sex couples to marry, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck asserted that a "priest" in Sweden was "put in jail for not wanting to perform a marriage to...

9. (untitled)   (07 Nov 2008)
October 22, 2012 Dear friends, I can hardly sing “The Star Spangled Banner” any more. When I hear the words, O say, does that star spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave? I get tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. Now in October of 2012, after seeing what has happened in the last four years, I don’t think I can still answer, “Yes,” to that question. We are not “the land of the free and the home of the brave.” Many of our freedoms have been taken away by...

10. Proposition 8 in California   (01 Nov 2008)
So the California Supreme Court ruled back in 2000 that same sex couples have the right to get married. This November (as I'm sure most of you have heard) there's going to be an innitiative to reverse that ruling and make it so same sex couples cannot get married here. I was just wondering the communities opinion on this subject. If you were a resident of California, how would you vote on this, voting "yes" means you think marriage should be between a man and a woman, and voting "no" means you d...
