1. The Difference Between Al Abaadhiyah And Salafiyyah (revivalist)   (14 Dec 2008)
The Difference Between Abaadhiyah And Revivalist (Salafiyyah) By Nashir bin Abdul Karim Al aql First : Actually Al-Abaadhiyah is one of the sects from most of Khawarij, according to agreement of Ulama which clarified it. That Abaadhiyah Ulama, the old one and the new one, by knowledge and Manhaj are forced to admit this truth, through their commitment to history and aqidah that directed to that, and also through comparison with Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama’ah. Secondly : That Al-Abaadhiyah is the least...

2. For video games, is dying a thing of the past?   (24 Dec 2008)
Quote: : http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/23/br...e-r-i-p-death/ The article got me thinking about video games and what constitutes actually dying in one of them. In the early days lives in video games lives were a heavily rationed thing, mainly because they represented actual physical money. Every time Pacman hit a ghost and turned himself inside out with a wa-wa-wa sound that meant fishing into your pockets for another quarter. So dying meant something in those games, usually a trip back to the...

3. How to Think About Science - CBC podcasts   (29 Nov 2008)
Links have been updated from here http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/pastpodcasts.html?45#ref45 How to Think About Science If science is neither cookery, nor angelic virtuosity, then what is it? Modern societies have tended to take science for granted as a way of knowing, ordering and controlling the world. Everything was subject to science, but science itself largely escaped scrutiny. This situation has changed dramatically in recent years. Historians, sociologists, philosophers and sometimes scienti...

5. No denunciation with regard to matters concerning which the scholars differed...   (12 Oct 2008)
Is there no denunciation with regard to matters concerning which the scholars differed? Some people say that with regard to matters concerning which the scholars differed, the person who follows one of the scholarly views is not to be denounced, and they mention the principle that “there is no denunciation with regard to matters concerning which the scholars differed.” Is this principle correct?. Praise be to Allaah. This principle which some people speak of, that “there is no denunciation with...

6. Results from a Blind Test GTG   (14 Oct 2008)
Hi Guys, On the weekend we did some blind testing at a GTG, which is a first for the guys present. The thread can be found over at SNA in the GTG section. But you have to be a member and be signed in to view that thread, so I have decided to copy and paste it here for anyone who is interested. Quote: DISCLAIMER: Blind testing has proven to be a controversial topic, but hopefully maturity levels are high enough to be able to discuss topics without them degenerating into a flame fest. So PLEASE if...

7. If Obama is like the iPhone, what PROBLEMS can we expect with his adminis...   (03 Nov 2008)
DARE TO COMPARE Okay, so... I've thought this for a while. Obama is like the iPhone. He's shiny, new, and a serious hype-magnet. People don't think he has enough "features" (read: experience), and there's a genuine argument to be made comparing marketing vs. milestones, rhetoric vs. results... and people tend to think both aren't good for business (whether this is true or not). He's co-sponsored what's often referred to as Google for government and has won the support of Google CEO Eric Schmidt...

9. WWYP IX Scores!   (19 Nov 2008)
All right, my fellow writers: CK, EE and myself have finally finished our scores. For those that do not now, with the type of judging format we are using none of you will know the actual scores, only the rankings of the winners and any other exceptionally close placing individuals. As for the critiques and comments, they are divided into four parts: adherence to prompt, tone, style and enjoyment. If you want to talk about your story, feel free to find me on AIM or send me a PM though I tried to...

10. My Woodcutting Help/opinion   (29 Dec 2008)
Right, im by no means saying this is how Runescape and Woodcutting the skill works, but i think its true and ill try and inform you about what i believe as much as i can and leave it to you to make your own opinion. Woodcutting is in my opinion, the best skill in the game, its relaxing, reflecting, doesnt require much attention, isnt stranious and most definately is rewarding. Perfect if your the sort of person who likes to click on a magic tree then minimize the window and listen to music/talk...
