This question's for everybody, but mainly those who don't live in America. I'd like to know what, in your eyes, makes an American? Everytime you call someone an "American"; or maybe when you think to yourself, "Oh, another American", what about the person causes you to think that? Please don't interpret this as a negative thread, I'm not trying to stereotype anyone, I'd just like to know your opinions.

I..m philippino and i don..t know but i think sometimes americans don..t see us as persons with own culture, wishes and feelings. We often see that here with rude tourists and also the behavior of your government.

Something to think about for EVERY American Never would have expected this from Letterman and I don't know why he waited till after the election to say these things.
It may be long but the further you get into it the more it rings true. Take the time to read it all . . .

Please, If you are 18 or older, Vote in the Presidential Election today. If you can't vote yourself, please ensure your parents vote.
I honestly don't care who you vote for, but with how high profile this election has become, it's important that the outcome is a proper representation of the opinions of the nation. We can't let one of the candidates lose out just because their voters didn't turn out to vote for them.
