1. Apple to School: Stop using our Logo or We Sue   (11 Oct 2008)
Quote: : A well-known computer company has told a Vancouver Island school to drop its apple logo. The Victoria School of Business and Technology started using a blue and green apple logo in 2005, but two weeks ago the school received a cease and desist letter from Apple Inc. in the U.S., telling it to get rid of the logo. “Your business logo…reproduces, without authority, our client’s Apple design logo which it widely uses. By doing so, you are infringing Apple’s rights, and further, falsely sug...

2. Apple Announces Last Year at Macworld, No Steve Jobs Keynote   (16 Dec 2008)
Quote: - We knew this year's Macworld was looking grim, but we had no idea how grim: Not only is Steve Jobs not delivering the keynote, Apple says it will be their last one ever. Instead of Jobs, delivering this year's supposedly final Macworld keynote is Phil Schiller, Apple's senior VP of worldwide product marketing. While we have confirmed this information with Apple, what this means for WWDC or town halls is unknown. We had predicted that Steve Jobs was preparing his farewell following his h...

3. Business School Studies Apple - Need Input   (24 Nov 2008)
Hey guys and girls, I've been around AI for quite some time now and although I haven't posted a lot this community is definitely a place I check daily for anything Apple related. Hell, this is where I usually find out there's an update available or about a new product being worked on. My roommates even a long-time advertiser on AI. So with all that being said my girlfriend who is finishing up her MBA has a project case study on Apple, Inc. due fairly soon and even though I have my own thoughts o...

4. Gearslutz opinions needed.   (06 Nov 2008)
I would value input as to whether my plans to upgrade make sense. Seems a lot of money, but I do want top end audio results. In particular things like FX bundles - can I do better than Waves for similar or less money (on some forums people say there are much better transparent compressors for example and others say they dont like the L1 optimiser as it can take the high end sheen away - although I think they are overdoing the paramaters). Also have I missed something out, or am I ordering too mu...

8. Gathering steam   (13 Nov 2008)
http://arstechnica.com/journals/appl...ndustry-giants Quote: : The iPhone is undeniably a capable device for casual gaming, but some believe it has the potential to go even further. Though there are pros and cons to the App Store's distribution model, as well as the iPhone's graphics hardware and smooth (though button-less) touchscreen, the platform has just received some high-profile thumbs-ups from heavyweights like Sega and Electronic Arts. Oh, and a 20-year-old bank teller in Denver, CO is t...

Rogers just launched 3.5G service in Canada. Does anyone know if the iPhone 3G chipset can support 7.2 megabits per second with a software update? ADVERTISEMENT: I have a practically new Asus X50R (F5 entertainment system) 15.4" laptop for sale. Bought it at start of june for for the sole use of automating the tracking of a telescope and capturing images while it was at it. I quickly realised a laptop of this spec was OTT. Also to add to that i have now moved and i have no where to use my telescope (cambridge, a sea of light polution yay). I can say i have used it for around 10-15 hours in total, 90% of that was through AC so battery shoul...
