Im thinking about getting an aqua-terrarium
I dont know if I made up that word or if it actually exists, but what Im trying to do is combine an aquarium and terrarium by having some underwater creatures coexisting with most likely some green tree frogs.
Ive had many pets and have experience with amphibians, fish and crustaceans but never really got super serious about them (ie. not getting the correct pH level, temperature, whatever else) even though Ive been able to keep them alive for...

Does anyone own a Finnex aquarium? Would you recommend them? (do you consider them good quality?) What do you think about the lighting?

Advice on buying new aquarium

Finally I am getting bigger aquarium, husband promised it for my birthday He finally realized, that it is not curable (my addiction, combined with multible tank syndrom)
Anyway, I am looking online, trying to find something 29-40 gal range, really hard to decide. Right not I have Eclipse systems, 6 and 12. They are very easy, everything is included. One problem I have with Eclipses that their light is not enough for growing plants that I like.
Would you recommend to buy auarium kit again, or buy...

Working at a lfs I am amazed at how many people are surprised to learn about some of the things that could make you at the very least sick (and worse) that we keep in our little eco-systems. Im hoping perhaps this thread could become a sticky and be used as a guide for new (and possibly old) hobbyists. People need to be aware of some of the hazards the we commonly keep.

Aquarium / What pets can you mix

I'm thinking about getting another Aquarium but was wondering what mixes with what, ideally I'd of loved something like:
Redtailed Black Shark
Jeberos imitator poison dart frog
Cameroon Blue Caecilian
And a load of tropical fish and shrimps and such, with colorful coral reef.
But I'm guessing if i do this set up everything's just gonna start eating everything else, so what can you mix and match. I heard you can only mix dwarf or claw frogs with fish, what else though.
Is there no chance of some...

Cleaning Outside of Aquarium With Windex Advice

I have been looking for a good way to clrean the out side of the Aquarium Glass. I went to a LFS and I saw a guy cleaning the tanks there. He was using WINDEX Glass Cleaner. I asked him if they always used that and he said yes. And also stated that they were loosing fish but it wasn't from Windex.
I have this Aquarium that I bought from my cousin. He is a heavy smoker and it has nicotine on the outside of the back side of the glass and I have tried water but it won't cut it as Nicotine is a oil...
