1. Thinking about military... opinions needed   (02 Nov 2008)
Alright, I may have done things backwards but here is the situation.... I graduated in May from Westminster with a BA in Business Finance and a minor in Accounting - gpa 3.3 and I'm 23 years old I have wanted to join the military for 6+ years and its always been in the back of my mind, for the past 2 years I have been seriously contemplating it. I'm in the work force now (i do finance stuff for small construction company) and its a fine job... but I'm missing something. I have a girlfriend who d...

2. Thinking about moving to Japan, need some opinions.   (06 Nov 2008)
Hello everyone, I'm new here, but I'm looking for some input. I'll try not to go into great detail of the events of my life that have gotten me to this point, I don't want to bore everyone. So I'm 21 years old, college didn't work out for me after high school for various reasons. So here I am now, trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, and over the past month I've been seriously considering going to school in Japan. Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to do certain things, I...

3. Thinking about getting a new guitar need some opinions   (28 Nov 2008)
Hey there people of guitar noise! I currently have two electric guitars, (I won't go into what other instruments I have) one is a Mexican Fedner Stratocaster from around 2001 and another is an Ibanez JS100, thats the Joe Satriani signature. I enjoy playing both, the Ibanez gives me a meaty sound and is much easier to produce pinched harmonics on but theres something rather pure about the Stratocaster. The strat has a good variation of sounds, you can switch from Hendrix to SRV with the flick of...

4. What do you think about Ka Bars?   (07 Nov 2008)
What do you think about Ka Bars? So I got one off of the internet and I like it a lot. I got the model 1211, the black Kraton G handle with the 7 inch blade. I will use it for camping and hiking. Of course I am relatively new when it comes to nicer knives, and every review of the knife I could find described it as "razor sharp, never gets dull, indestructible etc". There were a lot of people who described it as never getting dull. So I figured that that was the non knife guru opinion, so I am wo...

5. Thinking about moving   (28 Oct 2008)
I used to be in the lineman apprenticeship program in Houston and had some things come up that caused me not to be able to continue. I have since thought about getting back into it since I still have all my tools, etc. I would rather move away from Houston since lineman don't get paid as much as other places. I have considered New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Washington and would like peoples opinions of the climate and such of these states. Pro/cons, nice things about living there...

6. thinking about converting-questions   (26 Nov 2008)
Hello all. I posted a thread about wearing hijab a few weeks back and got a lot of support. I've been thinking deeply about converting to Islam, but I have a few questions that are making me hesitate. Any help and guidance would be wonderful. First of all, would it be offensive to try a sort of trial-run before I make shahada? Like, doing the daily prayers and reading the Qur'an before deciding anything. Also, I'm a very musical person. Is music prohibitted in Islam? I've found answers both for...

7. Thinking about selling   (15 Oct 2008)

8. Thinking about building a scraper to go behind my ripper   (05 Jan 2009)
Hello all, I am thinking about building a box to drag along behind the ripper on my 500c to collect the loosened dirt -much like a box scraper, but with a bottom and a dump feature that will work much like those big scrapers they use to make roads and stuff. I figure I can hook the lower front corners of the box to the main bar of the ripper, and for the top link I could 1) add a tripod type structure for the top link and anchor to the rippers mounting 2) Use a heavy chain with the same kind of...

9. Thinking about a loader   (15 Dec 2008)
I've been kicking around putting a loader on my 806. I'd like to plow my driveway and my neighbors with it in winter. What are front end loaders bringing nowadays? Would a guy be better off to buy a new one or just find a really good used one? This weekend I saw a very nice 6080 Allis Challmers with an Allied loader on it. It is a good tractor ( i know its not red) , we put over 20,000 hrs on ours before the rear end shelled out. Anyways, I'm waiting for a call back on the pricetag, I think momm...

10. Things to Think about when "Strategically Slaying"   (26 Dec 2008)
After browsing and reading the forums for a very long time, Its come to my attention that slaying has become a bit misunsderstood. Many times people think that the main slayers like Neighbor and Snipedown are good because of their "sick Br's" and "Nasty Snipe", when thats really only part of it. Nasty Snipe and Sick BR are things that are expected when slaying, sort of like when one plays tennis, its expected they can aim the ball and hit where they want appropriately. The hard part is the strat...
