1. Batman 3 - Dark Knight Sequil   (20 Dec 2008)
Well The Dark Knight was brilliant and apparently Nolan is working on a script under the name of 'gotham' at the moment and bale is still signed up for the next one and a few rumours have been circling since the release of TDK so I wondered what peoples opinions are? Rumours such as the riddler being cast as Eddie Murphy or Johnny Depp, the penguin and catwoman have also been mutter (Jolie as catwoman but a new woman is now rumoured). Some have also speculated at le beouf (or however you spell h...

2. Gotham Campaign   (15 Oct 2008)
having watched Dark Knight once again (and again ad again), i was thinking of starting a Gotham Campaign, something like 5-6 scenarios where the players will be the "Bat family". I'll have 4-5 players, so i thought they could play Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and if needed, Huntress. I'd like to put them against the usual rogue's gallery, Joker, Penguin, Freeze, Ivy, etc., possibly connecting the motives of all the baddies, for a grand finale against Al'Ghul. Now, i'm pretty good at "linki...

3. Batman and the Outsiders #13 - Spoilers   (20 Nov 2008)
I enjoyed Batman and the Outsiders from the start, when Batgirl came it was the icing on the cake, and compared to the series named after her, I still think this is the better. But, in following with the Batman RIP storyline, in this issue Batman is dead/missing-presumed-dead. And Batgirl, realizing Gotham must have a Batman but, looking at his skillset and realizing that no one person could replace him, is following the concept of the Outsiders and looking at people with varied skillsets. Some...

4. Oct 28 - Christopher Nolan (FINALLY) Talks "Batman 3."   (28 Oct 2008)
Quote: : Christopher Nolan on 'Dark Knight' and its box-office billion: 'It's mystifying to me' 07:45 AM PT, Oct 27 2008 EXCLUSIVE 'Dark Knight' director says he isn't sure he will make a third Bat-film. Why? He says: "I have to ask the question: How many good third movies in a franchise can people name?" Christopher_nolan_accepting_at_spik This is the first of a three-part interview with Christopher Nolan, the director of the astoundingly successful summer film “The Dark Knight,” which has pull...

5. Could "The Dark Knight" have been made a Christian film?   (13 Oct 2008)
Phy wrote an excellent piece about The Dark Knight a couple months ago, and now it's a closed thread so I have to start a new one. My thought experiment is this: Given that the themes played out in the movie are fundamental to human nature and can be related to Christian theology, could there have been a way to write essentially the same story from within a Christian worldview, that wouldn't have killed it? [comments continued after Phy's essay] Quote: : Phywriter: Themes from The Dark Knight -...

6. Dark Knight Sequel Thoughts?   (13 Oct 2008)
So after spending a good few hours playing Lego Batman - which bears absolutely no relation to Chris Nolan's interpretation of the character and yet is still brilliant - I got to thinking about where the cinematic Batster can/will go next. Now, I've just come from reading the Dark Knight topic that's one page back on this board, and the rumour Tequila posted in it - that's the 'Cher is Catwoman, Johnny Depp is Riddler and they're gonna start filming by the end of the year' one. And frankly, I do...

7. Nolan talks Batman 3 1   (28 Oct 2008)
GB: Welcome back to L.A. So I'm curious, tell me one of the surprises you've had during the journey of this film after its release on July 18. NOLAN: It’s funny, I’ve been asked a lot about the politics of the film. I dismiss all such analogies [laughs]. It really isn’t something we think about as we put the story together, myself, David Goyer and Jonathan [Nolan, brother of the director]. But I would point to the interrogation scene with Batman and the Joker — not that there is a specific polit...

8. Gotham City 400 pt help   (19 Oct 2008)
Hey everyone I would just like people's opinion on my 400pt gotham theme team. The rules this week at my venue is 400pt Gotham city theme, no Oots batman and no Icons joker. (My venue may be late with Arkham this week) Dark KNight w/ ICWO Nightwing w/ ICWO, Takedown Robin w/ Contingency plan Oracle (the one from Legacy) Batgirl Alfred (Chase) 383 pts. The idea would be to use Oracle's outwit so DK can Outwit people in stealth via Superman TA . As well as bumping up range with Robin and with the...

9. Comics Absorbing Influences from Other Media   (10 Oct 2008)
Mostly everyone these days notices how comics are influencing other media - that is, how they are providing materials for movies and tv (Smallville, for example, and assuming that Heroes is primarily an original comic book on television). But comics have almost always absorbed successful ideas from the media that they spin off. Kryptonite came from the Superman radio show, Batgirl came from the Batman television series, etc. So, for all you folks who read the monthlies regularly - has the latest...

10. New Azzarello Joker Interview from IGN   (25 Oct 2008)
The Joker's Wild Ride Brian Azzarello discusses the development of the Joker graphic novel that serves as a pseudo-sequel to the Dark Knight. by Dan Phillips October 23, 2008 - The Joker is having quite the year, and with Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo's upcoming original graphic novel, it's only going to get better. Joker is just the latest violent punch line to add to the Clown Prince of Crime's resume, which also happens to include a starring turn in one of the biggest movies of all time, co...
