Full disclosure, I'm a complete neophyte on game consoles and a certified luddite on home theaters, HD, and pretty much anything that runs off a remote control. Kids grown so last rev. of a game console is prolly a PS1.

Well I think I made a similar topic awhile back, but it came to mind again so I thought that I'd ask again. Anyway Blu Ray is starting to pick up and become more peopular as such more movies (anime or otherwise) are being released on BD, often with special exlusive content that is not available on the other DVD version.

I thought I'd set up a poll to see how many are into Blu-ray or are thinking about getting into it - and how many have zero interest.
Prices are coming down, and I am 100% sure prices will drop dramatically before Christmas.

Blu-Ray player versus Upconvert DVD player

I have seen in store "demos" and heard various opinions from other people. I guess I really need a poll and a few more people's opinion to make a decision. Some people have stated that up-convert dvd players work just as well as Blu-Ray, but research suggests that the quality is better.
I have a 47" 1080p LCD screen and I'm trying to decide whether or not to get an up-convert DVD player or a Blu-Ray player. I'm NOT interested in getting a PS3 (Yes, I do know that it's the best of two worlds for...

PS3 vs. XBOX 360

This Christmas my dad is thinking about finally upgrading our 27" CRT television to an LCD HDTV of some sort. If we end up getting some huge TV, I definitely want to get a new gaming system. I already have a Wii, so I was considering getting a PS3 or an XBOX 360.
