Hi, I am a Police Officer in the Chicago-land area on a medium sized and semi-busy Department. Long story short, I might be looking to get out of this horrible Blue State with it's oppressive taxes, gun laws and Obama loving liberals, just in the very beginning stages of thought. I have done a decent amount of research and seem to be drawn to the Rockwall area to live, I like the affordability, the way of life, etc. But I need some further opinion into Mesquite, Plano and Rockwall P.D.s and any...

I am leaving in 2 weeks for Chicago and will have one night and full day with just my daughter. What to do???? Then my husband will join us for 3 nights.
We are staying at either The Blackstone or The Renaissance - opinions on either of these? The Blackstone looks gorgeous, but seems far from many things? We are not afraid of walking though.
Any opinions on Chicago Dance 2008?
I am so excited to shop H and M and Filene's!!! Any other reasonably priced suggestions for shopping?

I have some questions for the board -
- How are you enjoying your Tig so far?
- How is the rear seat space? I'd need to put in 2 child seats...
- Any reports on urban / city mileage?
- What kind of deals are you all getting out there? If it helps, I am in Chicago but can travel a reasonable amount for a good deal.
Thinking of trading in the 04 Passat, as it is just out of Warranty, but I need to be convinced.

Thinking of switching from Comcast cable modem to DSL for broadband--will I notice the difference?
I'm in Chicago and currently have the Comcast Triple Play package (cable TV/digital phone/Internet) which ends up costing $123.44 a month. My year of service is almost up and I'm not interested in paying even more than I already am, so I'm considering getting rid of Comcast and switching over to just a broadband provider.

I am thinking about buying a United/ Lufthansa ticket from SFO (San Francisco) -> ORD (Chicago O'hare) -> CDG (Paris), the connection is 1 hour 7 mins at ORD on Dec 24th. I have no checked luggage. But is it too short of a connection time-> recipe for missing my connecting flight?
Alternatively, I can connect at IAD (Washington DC) with 1 hour 34 mins to connect, or at FRA (Frankfurt) on Dec 25th with 1 hour 30 mins or 2 hour 5 mins to switch (although in FRA i have to clear customs).
