1. 2010 Congressional Races   (09 Nov 2008)
Not too early to start thinking about them. All House of Representative seats are up. Here are the Senate seats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...lections,_2010

2. Jefferson lies low as congressional runoff nears   (28 Oct 2008)
SHAME on any voter who votes to re-elect Dollar Bill Jefferson. Stop and think about this. It doesn't matter what your preacher tells you to do... this man, his brothers, his sister, his wife AND his daughters and their husbands have been charged with wrong-doing. Shoot, his name even came up in the trial last week where Gwendolyn Moyo was convicted on 41 counts of fraud (stealing money from a church!). Turns out Dollar Bill was the one who introduced Moyo to Derrick Shepherd (you know him... th...

3. Desire (Somtehing to Think about!)   (06 Oct 2008)
Desire by haRold Smith from Jerusalem, Israel "And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads,...

4. The Congressional Effect   (27 Aug 2008)
Just something to think about when a Congressman says government can help the economy... Mr. Smith in Washington? Sell! By Jeff Jacoby Globe Columnist / August 27, 2008 "We sure had a great Fourth, especially after we picked up our morning papers and found that Congress had adjourned the night of the third," it began. "But our enthusiasm was immediately dampened, for the Senate are to meet again Monday, so that means that prosperity will pick up only 50 percent. "This country has come to feel th...

5. A Lot At Stake In 1st Congressional District   (14 Oct 2008)
Judged: 6 4 2 Interesting. Though written as fact, isn't this just an opinion, and a bad one at that? "[Larson] has the confidence of a seasoned politician who would be at the forefront of Obama-administration reforms in Congress." Incumbents are the problem in DC, not the solution, buddy. And the quietness of this campaign is the Courant's fault. Big time. You all are too busy running articles on J-Lo's underwear. Which is just one reason why the Courant will probably be bankrupt soon.

7. Congressional prediction   (23 Sep 2008)
CNN poll released today: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/23/democrats-widen-lead-in-battle-for-congress/ Quote: : Call it the overlooked election. An intense battle is going on right now for control of Congress, but it's overshadowed in the media by a historic race for the White House. So which party has the upper hand in the fight for Capitol Hill? The answer, according to a new national poll, appears to be the Democrats. In a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Tuesday, 56...

8. Economic Depression   (09 Oct 2008)
I've seen a lot of posts by money professionals and some non professional opinions on the topic of the congressional bailout of the banks. The Dow keep dropping. Could we be headed for a worse depression that the one in the mid '30's? 50% unemployment, soup kitchens, Carnivals, the Kennedy's get rich. What could be the outcome of this mess???

9. > How Do You Feel About Voting Against All Incumbents?   (30 Sep 2008)
I was curious of this communities opinions about a non-partisan movement to vote out all sitting Congressional leaders regardless of political party. I feel its time we raise the bar in Washington. Carer politicians are becoming way to powerful.

10. suggestions for organizing threads/discussions during election returns   (03 Nov 2008)
Anyone have suggestions on how we can keep this place from turning into mass chaos on Tuesday night? My initial plan, subject to change: - One thread for Presidential results. If all you want to do is say that Obama is ahead in OH, or CNN called NC for McCain, or comment on something similar, it should go in that thread. - Another thread for all other results. Same idea as above for Congressional, Gubernatorial, and all other contests. I was thinking about having a separate thread for Congressio...
