Hey Cowpokes,
I was born in Trail and lived a few places in BC and then in Medicine Hat when I was a wee feller before moving on to Winnipeg and then further east. I have lived in many cities in the east ever since. Lots of great riding out here in the Adirondacks, Vermont etc but ....

craft fair reviews in Calgary

Hi, I am new to the board - it looks very good.
Last year was my first doing craft fairs in Calgary some were great - some were a total bust.
So let's get down to it - I'd love to hear your opinions of specific fairs/sales.
For starters - Arbor Lake - too small, too many "avon" type vendors - total waste of time.
On the other hand - Ft Calgary is amazing! Wel attended, beautiful facility, great sales.

Fan 960 Calgary - Flames Overhype

Im glad most of you arent around Calgary and have to listen to the Fan 960 (Calgarys sports radio) on a day to day basis, because the station is becoming increasingly homerish by the day.
Most of the time, I find their segments funny and insightful, but lately their excessive love of the Flames is at an all time high. I know that sports radio in any given city is usually quite bias, (Team 1040, etc
) because they have to be to cater to their market, but here its amazing.

Confused - need new carseat in calgary!

Hi everyone!
We have just moved back to Calgary from the US. My lil peanut is 16.5 months and still less than 20lb but I just left a graco safeseat behind since I knew I had to get a canadian one here (btw my baby's over the height limit for safeseat)...Please suggest convertible carseat so she can ride rf till 22lb and then I can turn the same seat around when the time comes. We have an acura mdx and a honda accord so both are pretty roomy but it helps to have a skinny-er seat in case someone h...

Calgary driving in Canada

My husband and I are heading to Banff in January. We are thinking about hiring a car and driving from the airport at Calgary to Banff. Everyone I have mentioned this too has said we are crazy to be driving in snow season. Being a resident of sunny Queensland, we've never driven in snow! Is it really that difficult?

Calgary single house - Buy or wait?

Hello, I am thinking to relocate to Calgary, and kept eyes open to Calgary house for a couple of months already. I noticed that some house priced 10%(or even lower) lower than their latest assessment. Some people told me it's almost bottom, while others said this time it would break to price before 2005. If you look at the oil price, it's really scary. I totally lost direction. Hope to hear more voices and opinions from this forum. I try to figure out how much risk if I buy right now. Thank you...

I think Calgary Motorsports railroaded me hardcore

This is just an opinion, I'm a new rider and this was my first bike but I think these guys railroaded me into a quad they needed to get rid of. In my opinion they did not take the time to even try to find out what kind of rider I was. Within 3 hours I was passed to 3 different people I payed 5k for an 07 arctic cat DVX 400. I can get a brand new 09 300 (they don't make the 400s any more) for the same price at Ralph's Arctic cat here in Calgary I bought $500 in gear that they said was decent. (bu...

First let me say that this is one of the stupidest things that someone can do...try to predict the stock market! But with the other investment thread being severely de-railed into a dsicussion about oil workers vs. auto workers and things like that I figured it was time for a new one.

Whitehorse forum: Driving from Calgary to Whitehorse

Hi!
Just wondering what your opinion is of driving from Calgary to Whitehorse on my own in a rental vehicle?
Someone from the Calgary Forum thought that maybe there are gravel highways in between which a hire car company wouldnt allow me to travel along?
Also in general - what is the drive like? Reasonble to expect a solo traveller unfamiliar with the territory to drive it alone?
