Lakers v. Celtics? Who will be on top this year?
(13 Oct 2008)
Okay, I think that last finals was a joke. I am a lakers fan and they didnt show up at all. I have been thinking about this for a long time and I think that it looked a little fishy...What I mean is that it looked a little wierd. I'm not a conspiracy maker or anything, but do you think they tried to revive the Celtics Franchise by "giving" them another title? I mean Im just throwing that out there, Im getting kinda pumped about the next season and what do you guys think...will it be Lakers Over...

(25 Oct 2008)
Article
Quote: Why not us -- again?
Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers is picking his team to repeat as NBA champions and hoist their 18th championship banner, according to the Boston Herald. In a survey of the NBA's general managers conducted by NBA.com, 46 percent of those responding picked the Los Angeles Lakers to win the championship this season. Just 19 percent picked the Celtics to repeat.
But Rivers wasn't concerned about that, according to the report.
"Oh, I don't care one way or the other...

(14 Nov 2008)
Date: Wednesday, November 12, 2008
Time: 7:30 PM EST
Quote: :
The Atlanta Hawks nearly stunned the Boston Celtics last spring, taking the eventual NBA champions to a seventh game in the first round of the playoffs despite a 29-game discrepancy between their regular-season records.
This season, the Hawks have quickly taken to surprising the rest of the league.
The Eastern Conference's lone unbeaten team will look to stay that way on Wednesday night in Boston, where Atlanta has something to prove...

Lakers Ready To Teach Celtics A Lesson
(23 Sep 2008)
Quote:
Boston Celtics’ Paul Pierce, the opinionated self-loving guard, is on a historical mission. He wants to win successive titles, something the Celtics haven’t done in 20 years.
“I looked up and saw the banner from last season, but I also saw we haven’t repeated since ’68-69," Pierce told the Boston.com. “That’s motivation to repeat. So, let’s try to make more history."
The Lakers know how to win successive titles, having won three in a row not too long ago. And with the return of a healthy...

Pierce dealing with hurt hand
(13 Nov 2008)
Quote: : Not that last nights crowd would have known it, but Paul Pierce is hurting.
The Celtics captain had his (right) shooting hand wrapped in ice following his 36-point performance in a 94-87 win over Toronto at the Garden.
Ive had a sprained hand for about a week and Ive been icing it down, said Pierce, who scored 22 points in the fourth quarter. I try not to think about it. Its really bothering me. Every time it starts to get better, it gets hit. Full Article.

Dermot Desmond talking to the Evening Times today about the prospects of selling his shareholding
Do you fancy Celtic being under the control of some foreign billionaire financier?
(Stop sniggering at the back there!):
Dermot vow on shares sell-out
DERMOT DESMOND says he would only sell his controlling stake in Celtic to someone who could do "amazing things" for the Parkhead club.
The Irish millionaire would not completely rule out the possib...

Ronaldo: I Love playing at Celtic Park
(06 Nov 2008)
Ronaldo reckons Celtic worth their point
Cristiano Ronaldo said last night that Celtic deserved their point from last night's Champions League tie in Glasgow. The Portuguese winger was happy with United's perseverance which saw them equalise late in the game after being behind for much of it to an early Scott McDonald strike. Ryan Giggs earned the Old Trafford men a vital point just when it looked as if all their endeavour would be to no avail.
Ronaldo set up Giggs when Artur Boruc could only pa...
