Like I need another hobby?
A close friend who teaches sniper shooting for the Police / SWAT here in Atlanta is offering me one of his personal rifles in trade for my FN-PS90. Truthfully I have not shot my FN very much and while it is neat to look at, I am more interested in precision shooting.
Here is what he is offering:
Remington 700 PSS. Heavy barrel.
McMillan A5 stock, custom fitted and bedded to the Remington
Badger Ordnance floorplate and trigger guard.
Custom trigger job and bolt polish....

Right now, I've got a ton of suff and I'm trying to consolidate.
I'm trying to get down to:
tv+stereo
headphone rig
So I've primarily been a 2 channel guy, and would like to keep my rig around the TV. Analog output from the PS3 is less than stellar.
Option 1:
DAC, 2 channel amp & speakers
Option 2:
HT receiver w/ digital and 2 speakers or more.
Cons:
Option 1 - Necessity of having another box/DAC.
Option 2 - 2 channel performance from surround sound receivers is almost always lacking.

Opinions - Heater Channel Alignment Woes

I've read a bazillion posts on heater channels, and I still go out into the garage and stare - scratching my head.
Here's the short story.
Rebuilding my 56 Oval (was sitting on a 70 pan). Car sat for 7 years outside under a car cover at my parents house while I was in college. Got it back under my control in 2000, but engine disintegrated #2 and #3 exhaust springs. So it sat (but this time, in a garage).

Ti Stock barrel channel questions

I've got a TI stock w/ the standard barrel channel. I'm thinking about opening up the channel and bedding my lvsf into the stock. The barrel is definatly big for the stock, and I'm wondering if opening the channel up that far is going to be a problem. I know I should have bought one w/ a magnum barrel channel. I'm just wondering if those ones have the same forend w/ the larger channel milled in, or if they actually have a beefeir front end.

I didn't see this topic posted when I did a quick glance-through, so I hope I'm not repeating.
Is anyone else less than happy about the post Sirius-XM merger programming? I know at least the kids channel was totally changed to a Radio Disney knockoff, and now I have a pissed off preschooler.
I know that a couple channels were cancelled outright, like the ones playing punk.

Number of channels shrinking with time

It seems like the number of 'actual' channels on my Canadian-subscribed XM radio is shrinking with time. Is the "Best of Sirius" consuming so much bandwidth so that the XM hit music channels are being cut back?
Didn't there used to be more channels in the Ch. # 20-39 range? Right now I'm seeing 6 total in that range (including the artist channel Nazereth).
Grumble grumble grumble...
My annual subscription is coming up soon. I'll have to think about getting a US subscription if it is going to be...

Thinking about switching to Dish

I've been a D* customer for a number of years, moved and now have Cable. I only have 10 HD channels and one HD DVR. All that already cost me $100. These guys want $20 a month for each additional DVR. I like to get 2 more, but $40 / month for a couple of DVRs??? So now I am thinking of switching to either Dish or D*.
A few things I could use advise on:
- I have 7 TVS in the house. 3 are always in use, 3 are rarely used and 1 is sometimes used. I like to put 1 receiver in my basement, split the ou...

where to buy triple channel memory for i7?

I'm shopping around and so far the only store I found is newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...nd&Order=PRICE) .
The one I was thinking about was the 3x2gb g.skill ddr3-1600 ones but they are sold out or not in stock yet. also the price is definitely a bit high.
anyone know fo any other sites that have the new triple channel memory? tigerdirect didn't seem to have it.
