Need Console Opinions

My latch broke off my 60/40 console a little while back on my '01. (Ya'll have never heard of this happening before have you)! I think I am going to get some strong magnets with adhesive to hold my lid down. I have already checked around at hardware stores, and they don't have them. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of magnets and if this would work for holding the lid down? I would appreciate any advice!

I was reading the forums just now particulary the perfect game thread and someone mentioned Final Fantasy 9 which lead me to thinking about the original playstation and the memories i have of playing classic games and the ones i still dig out every now and then (final fantasy IX being a perfect example as i play through it a least once a year maybe more)

Inner console reinforcement

I am considering installing Tangerine racing's Inner Console brace kit this winter. But I have a bunch o' stuff located right where Chris shows it mounted on the front firewall. (right side - fuel lines, brake line, oil thermostat and oil lines)
It seems that I could relocate the front of the brace to above the heater tube location and maintain all of the clearances that I need for my "stuff". (I am thinking the spherical bearing kit as I can adjust as necessary.)

One obvious way that Linux beats Microsoft Windows hands-down is in its flexibility. You can run Linux on just about any old crappy PC with a semi-functional processor and a paltry amount of storage. People have installed distros on the Apple TV, Nintendo DS, andof coursethe Mac.

thinking about a toon

i considering, sell all my boats (3), except the deck boat. and by a toon. what i want to do is an all around boat. i want the rails to be free of clutter, so i can fish, center console, with front and rear facing furnishings, say 2 love seat size benches. i have a wireless controlled trolling motor for the bow. absolutely no carpet. would need to handle some fairly rough water, 2 -3 ft chop, on a bad day. as i would also like to use it to go to dinner, which is a 7 mile trip across the St Johns...

So I'm thinking about buying my parents a new tv for Christmas, and I'm thinking of actually waking up early and hitting up the Black Friday sales...just to be part of the crowd and have something to talk about at work
But after doing some window shopping it came down to 2:
50" LCD Plasma (LG brand I believe)
60" DLP 1080p (Mitsu)
Both will be $1000
TV may have a game console hooked up that won't be used much maybe once/twice a week.
Either way it'll be better than their current 10+ year old 60"...

Center Console light?

Has anyone done a center console light? I was thinking about this the other night when I was trying to find something in my console while driving. Seems like it would be an easy mod with a power source in the console.

I am looking for a monitor that I can use as both a pc monitor and with a wii. I became interested when I saw that I could use the monitor as a 16:9 display when gaming aka no stretching. Does anyone have any opinions? What would be the best way to hook up a wii to the monitor? thanks
