RRFF Review - something to think about
(10 Oct 2008)
This post is not going to make me the most popular bloke on here, but sharing opinions and providing information is the greater purpose of this website so Ill have a crack.
As an Ausfisher (with a background in science) I was at one of the recent RRFF meetings and was astonished with the way the DPI&F estimates of recreational catch and the varying estimates of the stock assessment (5 estimates ranging from conservative to less conservative) were immediately discounted as fudged figures and ...

What do you think about porn? *56k*
(11 Nov 2008)
I know it's been raised so many times as a topic, but it's a good topic for discussion and I thought it would make a change as it's been boring the last couple of days.
Anyhoo, what do you think about porn? It's probably crossed your mind once or twice. Certainly has for people at my school with dirty minds.
Anyway, what is it to you? Do you think it should be allowed? As they say in songs, is the internet FOR Porn? And the big 1 penny question is: have you looked at some?

The X-S-ive Presents: The Line Was Already Crossed
(05 Sep 2008)
The Line was Already Crossed.
Hey and welcome to the second column by the X-S-ive. I added the 'the' in there because apparently thats all you need to go from jobber to a title match apparently. Anyways, despite my initial claim to go about having a weekly column I have already decided to switch to a bi-weekly column, thanks to a school schedule which I did not believe would be so consuming. So in order to compromise I will right a longer column, with more detail, and would greatly like it if ot...

Invisible fencing....something to think about.
(26 Sep 2008)
Just crossposted to me on another site:
Something to think about with Invisible Fencing
It never occurred to me before...
Permission to Cross Post granted and encouraged!!
I have never been a big fan of Invisible Fencing, but today I am sick at
heart. Images of a young girl with blood dripping from her face, of another
young girl opening her front door to discover the body of her dog laying on
her front yard as well as the sound of the shot from the police revolver that
killed the dog haunt me....

Sum #'s to think about:
(17 Oct 2008)
Both Nikon with their D90 and Canon with their 5DII have introduced video into the DSLR capability and with these announcements and camera deliveries, I believe the Rubricon has been crossed. Moreover, there have been several "Old School" personalities who have suggested that this is neither worth looking at or incorporating into the overall package of capabilities that are delivered by the wedding photographer. I believe that quite the opposite is actually going to happen and that if a wedding...

Opinions on the Focus and other Ford products
(29 Oct 2008)
As I drive around, I seem to notice quite a few new Focuses. I know they're sales figures are up.
I once drove the previous-gen Focus coupe (with the lights up in the rear pillars) as a rental. It was a nice little car. A little small for my taste, but still a very cool little car that was fun to putt around in.
I've also driven the Milan. I was really impressed with its stability and handling. I had it out on the twisties on Highway 1 near Big Sur.
Ford has some good products out there, so I'm...

Then why so disdainful of other's opinions? There
(15 Oct 2008)
Then why so disdainful of other's opinions?
There are many people I disagree with whose opinion I respect ... William F. Buckley being a notable example for over 40 years. There are also people whose opinion I respect on certain topics, but not particularly on others, since they have shown themselves to me that they are knowledgeable and informed in those areas, if not in others. There are many whose point of view I find interesting, whether or not I agree with it, simply because it illustrates...

Crossing a Palomino With a Chestnut
(17 Nov 2008)
Crossing a Palomino With a Chestnut So here's a long story I'll make short. A lady we ride with in drill team has asked us (a few times) if we would be interested in breeding Faye. She has a chestnut stud and wants to know what color foal he would produce if crossed with a palomino. I'm not sure what "color" chestnut...if it's liver or flaxen or what. I'll ask.
But I was wondering what your experience or knowledge is, when crossing a palomino with a chestnut. My mom and I are actually sort of th...
