1. Opinions on JP curved bits   (13 Dec 2008)
Those of you who have JP bits, do you like them? I'm considering getting a french link Dee for my gal, and the only french link I can find (that's not $75-$100) is a JP, the ones with the curved mouthpiece. I'm thinking the curved bit would be nice to have, even though she doesn't really have an issue with her current plain Dee fitting in her mouth. So, what does everyone think about them? Like them, hate them? Is the sizing the same as regular (non-curved) bits? Does the french link alter the c...

2. Curved dimensions   (03 Nov 2008)
OK I know this is probably been asked before so moderators delete if you feel I am asking something repetative. I cannot get my head round the idea of dimensions curving. In what dimension do they curve. For example, take space time curveture, when we say that space time curves, does this mean that one dimension is constant and the others curve around it (if so which one) like a curved peice of paper in three dimensional space, or does it mean they all curve together. And in string theory, these...

3. Hurst shifter for Ghia straight or curved   (07 Nov 2008)
I have decided on a Hurst shifter for my 1969 Ghia Vert. I'm aware this year had the straight shifter as OEM. I'd like to get some opinions on the pros and cons on the Hurst straight vs curved for this Ghia. Thanks for any input.

4. Opinion on Hirsch curved end strap??   (21 Dec 2008)
Hi, this is my first post here. I finally got a 45mm PO. It is beautiful. I really like the look of the rubber strap, but not a big fan of the rubber. I had tried few leather straps. The rubber strap still looks the best. I think it is because of the curved end. It gives an integrated look. I know there are some curved end straps use curved spring bar. However, I don't think curved spring bars are strong enough, specially with heavy watch. Besides, it is a diver. Straight spring bars should be u...

5. Making a curved template   (06 Nov 2008)
In the final stages of refurbishing the downstairs bog (yup, it's been on the go for ages!) and I want to fit an undersink cabinet. The sink in question is not too large (but then neither is the room) and I want to use it rather than change for a purpose built vanity unit for a variety of good reasons, so I thought I might buy a 600mm kitchen base cabinet and modify it (to make it shallower) to form the carcass, using something yet to be decided as the worktop that sits each side of the sink. Cu...

6. Forks Curved Or Straight   (03 Nov 2008)
I am getting some KOT forks but dont know whether curved are better than sraight or vice versa any opinions ? James

7. Button layout Straight VS. Curved for games with unique button requirements...   (07 Jan 2009)
In getting ready to design my control panel and I have been looking at a lot of examples in the CP sticky as well as a lot of button layouts.  I have printed some out and really like the curved more ergonomical designs.  They seem to be more comfortable and would allow longer game play.  After printing some out I was confused as to why there are not more curved designs as they seem more comfortable. I figured initially it might be that there are a lot of people that enjoy the fighter games (Mort...

8. Curved spokeshave   (17 Nov 2008)
Has anyone used one of Terry Gordons curved spokeshaves? saw him use one at the T&WWWS in Melb. Not too long before I add one to my collection of his tools. So i am interested in your opinions of their use

9. Designing a curved 6'x6' ScrOG screen?   (23 Nov 2008)
I've come to my senses and realized running 2 1ks (+veg lights) as SOGs would be insane (plant count), so I think I want to do a ScrOG. I want to build larger tubs, about 5'9" squares, so I can bring my canopy area up to roughly the same size and maximize yield (according to Cannastats Yield-O-Rama anyways). I also want to make my screen curved to keep the outer edges closer to the light. I haven't done any thinking about ScrOG so I'm kinda at a loss. Anyone want to throw designs or ideas at me?...

10. Is spacetime really curved? Embedded somewhere?   (14 Dec 2008)
Is spacetime really curved? Embedded somewhere? When light goes through different materials, it chooses path to locally minimalize distance - it's trajectory is geodesic of some metric (usually diagonal - isotropic) . It is the result of that microscopic structure of the material can reduce wave propagation speed. Microscopic models of physics usually assume that we have some field everywhere and it's fluctuations transfer interactions/energy/momentum. So maybe these microscopic structure can re...
