1. (untitled)   (10 Nov 2008)
One of the limbs on my bow separated last weekend. Do any of you guys know of someone close to Desoto county that does warranty work on a Matthews bow? I bought it in Grenada and that is even where it broke, but I guess I was too ticked to think about dropping it off at Lakeway on the way home. I was just hoping there was another dealer someplace a little closer. I'M YOUR HUCKLEBERRY. Desoto Rifle & Pistol Club NRA LIFE MEMBER

2. White morph Reddish Egret Landing   (26 Nov 2008)
I finally got a chance to give the photography muscles a workout on a short trip to central / south Florida. This white morph Reddish Egret was very active at Ft. DeSoto early in the morning on November 18th. This was about the sixth image of the day and one of many taken of this entertaining and very beautiful bird. This is not a full frame image and I do have room for a landscape crop...any opinions on which might be more effective? Comments and critique are most welcome and appreciated! handh...

3. Re: Fluidyne Design Info   (02 Nov 2008)
On Sun, 02 Nov 2008 11:10:35 -0600, Morris Dovey <mrdovey@iedu.com In spite of my resolutions to leave this idea alone, I haven't been able to. I've been thinking about reworking a gas strut (shock absorber) to use as the hot head of an air-only engine. Instead of a thermal or pressure activated valve, I think I may try setting up a mechanical trip at two points of the piston's travel - one to open a gate valve between the hot head and the cold head, and the second to close it. I'...

4. Re: Stirling engine piston/cylinder dimensions?   (25 Nov 2008)
On Tue, 25 Nov 2008 06:40:04 -0600, Morris Dovey <mrdovey@iedu.com Yes this follows from Pi * Vi / Ti = n * R = Pf * Vf / Tf (Things equal to the same thing are equal to each other, yes?) In practice, the air won't expand to the maximum calculated volume - nor will it contract to the minimum calculated volume... ...and Pi can't equal Pf in an engine that'll actually run (think about it a bit and you'll see why). Yuppers. True - that's why they call it the /Ideal/ Gas Law. Our p...

5. Gregory Wright 999253 Tx   (07 Nov 2008)
Whilst I'm aware of the short notice and time frame to work with, could you please help with Gregory Wright. During his time on Polunsky's death row, Greg has proved to be a model prisoner and undergone study and been awarded a diploma as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal. 6. RR: Ford Ironman Kona, The Big Dance !   (14 Oct 2008)
(edited to add pictures and lessons learned links to other posts 10/17/2008 ) (edited to add post-race revelations 10/17/2008 ) The usual disclaimer: This is so utterly long, you’ll go senseless. But if I wrote a short one, you’ll give me an F and will ask me to write it again. Anyway, full of trivial details including some of the thoughts that were percolating in my head at different times. If you can’t follow my train of thought, just ascribe it to gibberish. I’m not myself yet. This whole thi...

8. The "Monster" Buffy Quiz: Results!: Results!   (03 Nov 2008)
Here it is BB, the results of the latest Interdorm Competition: The "Monster" Buffy Quiz! For those of you who don't know, the prefects at BB put together a quiz of 144 Mind-Boggling Questions: one for each episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Quiz was set up much like an episode guide: each season was split into its own section and the questions in each season were numbered corresponding to the episode number (ie: Episode #2 of Season 1 is "The Harvet": Question #2 in Season 1 is about "The...
