Your Most Memorable Moments From the Past Decade?
(06 Dec 2008)
Saw this on another forum and thought I would see what your opinions on this was.
What are the moments that stand out the most for you from the past decade? They don't have to be widely considered to be memorable, this is strictly what stands out most for you.

Kamen Rider Decade in Action
(24 Dec 2008)
I must confess, I’m not sure what to think about Kamen Rider Decade. I don’t much like the design of his armor. But the notion of seeing some of my favorite Heisei era riders back in action intrigues me. And Gackt is doing the theme song so how bad can it be? 2009 [...]

Life in Limbo For Serbian Refugees After More than decade since wars end ...
(11 Dec 2008)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7772755.stm
The United Nations says more than six million people have been living as refugees for more than five years.
More than 90,000 of those are Serbs, who fled Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia during the Balkan wars in the 1990s and now live in the same squalid camps they were originally placed in.
The BBC's Imogen Foulkes says these refugees are in limbo - unable either to return home or begin a new life.

Thinking about a '96 SR5 4WD with 137K miles ($6K)
(07 Dec 2008)
Thinking about a '96 SR5 4WD with 137K miles ($6K) Hello all!
I'm just about to purchase my first 4Runner and I can't even tell you how excited I am. I should be signing all the paperwork on Monday for a 1996 4Runner SR5 with 4WD, unless someone here explains why I shouldn't. It seems to have been pretty well maintained and it has about 136K miles on it. My impression is that I will likely get quite a few more years of work out of it with a little love and care, and regular maintenance.
So I'm i...

Something to think about...
(06 Jan 2009)
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip.
You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just ponder on them. Just read straight through, and you'll get the point.
1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
4. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
5. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and...

25 Things About to Go Extinct in America
25. Pit Toilets
By the 2000 Census, the number of Americans who
lacked indoor plumbing was down to 0.6%. Even though
that's still an awful lot of Americans using an outhouse
or pit toilet -- 670,000 households or 1.3 million people --
it's a huge improvement from 1950 when 27% of households
(and over half of rural households) didn't have complete
indoor plumbing.

Types and sizes of sets? Opinions?
(11 Oct 2008)
I didn't know whether to post this in the Goal Post or the Scumble, and finally realized it's a topic of its own.
I also came to a momentous decision. I always wanted the giant wood box set of Senneliers, 525 colors. But it sank in to me that until I have a studio, that isn't practical. I'd also need to get Kitten or Karl to carry it for me if I took the dang thing anywhere, because of my disabilities. 100 stick Pure Tones is still manageable and would have the most different hues within what I...

I'm at a crossroads, opinions welcome
(04 Dec 2008)
I'm not the type for a "what do I do with my life thread," but I would like some fresh insight into the situation. I went home to Texas for Thanksgiving after being out here in Cali for the past two years. It was really nice to be home, and I realized how much I miss my family, the hill country, and Texas in general. I only left because I married at 22, divorced at 24, and had to get away for a while. Ever since I've been here I've been bouncing from job to job, constantly broke, and had a chip...
