1. Disappearing posts   (23 Oct 2008)
Hello everyone! I just wanted to drop in and say hello. There have been a couple times I've posted in the last 2 weeks where my posts and the posts of others have disappeared from the thread. I wrote a pretty long update on Ozzy's "how's everyone doing?" thread, and I remember seeing goodkarma's response that Quote: d my post, and also one from Samersova that disappeared from the thread. M'be there have been some database issues with APA. I know we've been having plenty of our own here at my job...

2. Disappearing posts...   (05 Nov 2008)
I'm a little curious... Posts seem to be randomly abducted around here. One minute it's there and the next, it vanishes without so much as a trace. What gives? I'm not talking about posts that are vulgar or have off-color content. I'm talking about normal opinions and expressions. When I first joined, I thought this was a pretty remarkable place to express thoughts with other adventure bike enthusiasts... But now I'm wondering if there isn't some Adventure Rider Caucus that meets in a dark smoke...

3. Lots of threads disappearing or getting locked...   (26 Nov 2008)
What's the deal? Have the disrespectful comments gotten so out of hand? If that's the case, can we rein that in a bit, please? Differing opinions are important, certainly, but it shouldn't be too much to ask for some people to show some respect. And the locking threads...is everyone okay? I'm a little worried that the most interesting threads--not to mention many of the most active ones--are getting taken out of the fray. I hope the forum (or its members) is not spiraling downward for some reaso...

4. aft's in the wild disappearing?   (18 Oct 2008)
ive been thinking about this, as i have recently read an article about fat tails (leo's) disappearing from southern asia, due primarily to collection for the pet trade. well, i almost never see wc leo's for sale. but i do almost always see wc aft's. i hear of importers bringing in thousands at a time. i imagine a lot of them die in transit. just makes me wonder what we are doing to the wild aft's. personally i dont think there is anything wrong with importing aft's and keeping them as pets, as l...

7. Seriously thinking about the Capo   (29 Oct 2008)
Howdy, Well, the old Duc ST seems to have taken the cam belt dump. The "tax" owning that bike is rather onerous, considering I use it for my mileage mule. Just maintaining that bike costs well over 10 cents a mile (not counting disposables like oil/tires). AF1 has a smokin' deal on new Capo's and one could really kit one up with sexy luggage/exhaust/other stuff for a reasonable amount of cash. I am not going to consider a GS, of which I consider an unreasonable amount of cash. I already have a T...

8. Something to think about.   (03 Dec 2008)
25 Things About to Go Extinct in America 25. Pit Toilets By the 2000 Census, the number of Americans who lacked indoor plumbing was down to 0.6%. Even though that's still an awful lot of Americans using an outhouse or pit toilet -- 670,000 households or 1.3 million people -- it's a huge improvement from 1950 when 27% of households (and over half of rural households) didn't have complete indoor plumbing. 24. Yellow Pages This year will be pivotal for the global Yellow Pages industry. Much like ne...

9. opinions please please please   (22 Oct 2008)
so i literally jus started this one. Its written a certain way to give a certain feel. hope you like it. title: Oh Boy Boy kisses girl. Girl kisses boy. Three and a half years of loving one another, sort of. Boy wipes away kiss as she drives off, wishing it could be easier. She hasn’t a clue. Just like any other boy these days, he’s filled with hormones; all these emotions keep disappearing and reappearing. What seemed like love just doesn’t exist anymore. Now he’s the bad guy. The same bad guy...

10. Disappear (One of the Missing)   (20 Oct 2008)
Give me some feedback here, guys. This isn't the whole story, either. D I S A P P E A R One of the Missing ~ [ P R O L O G U E ] 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day, on average. This isn't just limited to middle class folks, or black people, or whatever, either. That's everyone. The missing can be adults or children. The missing come in all colors and genders and sizes and classes. Just think about that for a second. 2,300 people a day. That's 839,500 people a year. Missing. Just...go...
