Opinions from Higher Level Players MapleTip Forums- MapleStory Discussions...
(04 Sep 2008)
Hey guys, I'm doing some research on the game and I had a few questions I wanted to ask to some players who have higher level characters.
Its taking me a while to level up and I feel like I might be missing some of the aspects of the game I need to complete my research, so I thought I would ask a few of you..
I was wondering;
-How are the guilds? Are they really active? Do you get together often with them? How many of you are in Guilds?
-What is the most common thing to do at high levels? Are th...

suggestions for organizing threads/discussions during election returns
(03 Nov 2008)
Anyone have suggestions on how we can keep this place from turning into mass chaos on Tuesday night? My initial plan, subject to change:
- One thread for Presidential results. If all you want to do is say that Obama is ahead in OH, or CNN called NC for McCain, or comment on something similar, it should go in that thread.
- Another thread for all other results. Same idea as above for Congressional, Gubernatorial, and all other contests. I was thinking about having a separate thread for Congressio...

Why so many extreme exagerations in our political discussions?
(06 Nov 2008)
I'm addressing this to both liberals and conservatives.
Why in the last 20 or so years have so many characterized a candidate's (or fellow poster's) opinions or beliefs at such extreme levels?
Too many people who favor some limited social programs are labelled as socialists. Less frequently (IMO) but still too often conservative ideas are labelled as fascist or racist.
I know why politicians do it. The public buys into it. Politicians don't believe the extreme labels they place on their candidat...

Restructuring the forums -- thinking about what we want.
(03 Oct 2008)
One of the things we need to start thinking about is how we want to structure the forums once we upgrade.
I'm open to suggestion. I don't think our current structure makes it easy to figure out the best place to put things or find things. As long as we're going to commit to fixing things, let's really fix them.
I'm making this up as a type, so don't consider it set in stone, but if we're going to restructure the forums, how about something like this?
(dashes imply nesting. question marks imply I...

Scientific Discussions
(16 Sep 2008)
Okay, when we were discussing some things about the LHC, I was in the mood to talk scientifically, it was fun. So, for the past day, I've been wanting to post this thread but couldn't think of what to start the discussion on. But it's been nagging at my head so much that I find myself constantly thinking about it. So I couldn't think about much else. So I'll leave it to someone else to start the discussion. Just suggest something that might be possible to start this.

Political Discussions
(18 Nov 2008)
Since the decree came down the pipes a couple weeks ago about there not being any more political threads, some switches and levers were pulled.
There is now a place for political discussion on ACS. The Politics board has its own subforum under the Open Discussion forum. Any and all political threads you may think about making should go in the Politics section and nowhere else.

Given The Discussions Regards Politics
(08 Nov 2008)
Whatever your Political Views I think you'll get a kick out of this!
A little boy goes to his dad and asks, 'What is Politics?'
Dad says, 'Well son, let me try to explain it this way:
I am the head of the family, so call me The Prime Minister.
Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government.
We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People.
The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class.
And your baby brother, we will call him the Future.
Now...

Debates and discussions in this forum.
(24 Sep 2008)
This is just a thread to try and ensure that when various discuusions are taking place that we try and remain civil. One way is to avoid several fallacies and to have good practices when posting.
1. The most obvious one is try and keep it civil. name calling is not only rude, but can lead to flame wars and threads being locked down. This is also in Jref rules.
2. Please list sources and articles for any arguments or points. Such things as "my mates best friend told me that x happened" do not giv...

Merger too hard to think about
BY TOM WALSH FREE PRESS COLUMNIST October 10, 2008
So, Chrysler LLC is talking with General Motors Corp. about merging, eh?
That means Jeep would join forces with Hummer, when no one is buying SUVs.
And Dodge and Chrysler brands could sell alongside Buick and Pontiac and GMC in a five-point -multi-channel system full of brands that can't survive on their own.
Both companies have way too many dealers and too many employees and too many plants now. So the combine...
