Your opinion on drafts, for, or against?

Hey guys, ever since the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, USA is going through consideration of bringing draft back.
What do you guys think? When USA is in need of troops to "fight terriosm"
I, myself, am too pussy to think about dying in the battle fields in AFghanistan. So I'm against the draft.
Any deeper thoughts in this subject?

I think it is finally time for us to start to think about next years draft and where will we draft and who do we want drafted. So anything to with the draft lets post it here!!

I was just wanting some opinions on what the best set to draft is? Some friends and I are going to be playing a league, and would just like some opinions on what sets are fun to play in draft format and other types of limited play. Is Shards of Alara worth it? Maybe some older sets that are just really fun?

He's 6'6 220 pounds, he's only 17! by the time he's 22 he'll be bigger. If Gillis can make a trade and get the 1st or 2nd draft overall and draft Hedman then I'm all for it. He would make a great D partner with Edler.

Trading for draft picks - Opinions Please

I use to play in this league and they have a spot open now that they might allow me back in the league but my biggest gripe of that league was that they allowed trading for draft picks. It is a 2 player keeper league and for example this year there was a trade where one team traded their 2nd and 6th round draft pick for AP. This to me just does not seem fair even though AP is not a keeper and will be put back in the player pool. Has anyone here played in a league like this? How can a commishione...

First draft

I have played magic casually for ages but in a few days I am gonna be trying my first draft. It is mostly with my friends so it is still semi casual but I was wondering if people had any advice to give me?
By the way I have been skimming some drafted decks and I noticed that a lot of them use a whole lot of lands. Even in small fast decks that wouldn't require a lot normally. Is this to get to some minimum size for the deck and avoid the crappy cards drafted or is it to make up for the different...
