I was thinking about maybe making a energy shield that could absorb damage... since we don't have that sort of thing.

The restrictions/idea would be:
-Have to be facing the attack (can't defend against explosives)
-Have to be defending (holding a button.. like D)
-Takes up one hand, and is always equipped after pressing the designated button, until choosing another weapon. And must be used with one-handed weapons

I'm constantly seeing politicians and media people talk about how increasing our nation's solar/wind/geothermal/tidal/nuclear/poopsock energy sources will help reduce our dependence on foreign oil. I don't get this. According to the Department of Energy, petroleum constitutes only 1.1% of our nation's electricity generation:

The other day I watched Body of Lies, which had an interesting idea that I'm interested in seeing everyone's opinions on.
The main character hypothesizes that as soon as the West stops buying oil from OPEC and the Middle East, the funding for Islamic terrorism will dry up and that particular scourge of humanity will end.

I've been thinking about this question for a while now, and a recent post I made forced me to ponder again. So listen.
In the example of Murtagh's mysterious healing stone, when he used it Eragon felt no surge of energy from him. So it's not like he pulled the energy into his body and released if from there. He worded the healing spell where it would draw directly from the stone (eldunari in my opinion). So why did he do it in this way?

So, the more I hear, the more I tend to believe in my theory of twisted number lines where 0 is the same as infinity.
The scientist talking on tonight's show is discussing the theory that Dark Energy will "win". Our future is destined to end in Dark Energy.
