Opinions on a 87 Ford mustang 180k!!!
My younger brother, while searching the wide world of craigslist, came across a 1987 Mustang 5.0 5 speed, that does not run. Located in Scottdale, PA
Owner says it needs a starter, but also shares it has 180k.
I personally think he is retarded for even thinking about buying it.
But as we speak he is down there, looking at it.
As my younger brother is looking for a RELIABLE driver....
Anyone else feel the same? Or am I wrong?

I'm helping my Uncle shop for a new truck to do some moderate amounts of trailer pulling, few times a month, some retirement projects and such.
Dodge dealership is advertising half off MSRP on new trucks if that's true that would be:
23K for a QC 4x4 SLT 6.7 Cummins.
19K for a QC 4x4 SLT Hemi.
Ford is giving 16K off so that would be:
About 24K for a V10 XLT Crew Cab 4x4.
We haven't checked Chevy, but since he is leaning towards a gas motor I think the 6.0 is probably the best (all around, mileag...

Need opinions on 4.0L Ford

Looking at buying a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4, 82K miles, has a 4.0L V6 in it, checked EPA stats looks like it gets 13/18 mpg. Anybody had any experiences with these 4.0L engines? Good, bad, any trouble spots I should look out for? I'm also looking at a 2003 Monte Carlo SS, 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, and a 2005 Impala, sure could use the fuel mileage, but kinda need that 4wd. If everything checks out on the Explorer I could buy it as soon as Tuesday, so any opinions?

Opinions on the Focus and other Ford products

As I drive around, I seem to notice quite a few new Focuses. I know they're sales figures are up.
I once drove the previous-gen Focus coupe (with the lights up in the rear pillars) as a rental. It was a nice little car. A little small for my taste, but still a very cool little car that was fun to putt around in.
I've also driven the Milan. I was really impressed with its stability and handling. I had it out on the twisties on Highway 1 near Big Sur.

Looking at a replacement vehicle for the wife. We cant afford a new car unless its something we would rather not buy new. Have looked at some small SUV's and am leaning toward the escape/tribute/mariner 4wd limited with the 3.0L. This was her pick, and i'm not really opposed to it. I guess if it were me i'd just find her another a6 considering that car was great, but she wants change.
Anyone owned one? Anything I should watch out for?

GM and FORD stocks

Ok, this might be a stupid question, but what do you guys think about buying GM or Ford? GM is at 2.79 and Ford is at 2.11.
In my opinion, they're going to get some kind of bailout. If not now, when Obama gets in office.
When that happens, I would think these would shoot up, if only for a short period of time.
What are your thoughts?
