1. Your Lighting Setup for Group Formals and Bridal Portraits   (26 Oct 2008)
What is your lighting setup for group formals and bridal portraits? I was thinking about abandoning the single shoe mounting flash setup and maybe investing in two light stands with speedlites in softboxes - for group formals, I was going to feather the lights. Anyone have any experience with this setup? Any pros and cons? Or a better setup recommendation? Anyone think that speedlites are a bad idea and recommend getting strobes instead? Thanks!

2. Biannual formal rush?   (05 Nov 2008)
I'm a high school senior, and am thinking about rushing a sorority next year. I was talking to my dad, who was in a fraternity when he was in college, and he said I should rush second semester, not first, because he thinks I won't get the full experience of dorm life and won't get to know as many people in my dorm because I'll be so busy. That is what he did, but is formal rush still held twice a year? I thought it was in the fall (unless deferred) and then COB for the rest of the year. **Sorry...

3. Appropriate for formal?   (19 Oct 2008)
Hello! After spending almost a year looking for a strapless formal dress that sits under the knee and is the right cut I have given up. I had an idea and was wondering if it sounds appropriate (as much as I love fashion I am HOPELESS!) My new idea is to have a under the knee soft tulle skirt made in a light pink colour with a white satin waistband. I would wear it high waisted with a black cami. I also have a black velvet cropped evening shrug I would like to wear over the top. Does this sound o...

4. Army JROTC Formal Inspection   (20 Nov 2008)
Our JROTC battalion had its formal inspection yesterday, since I am the asst. S5 it was my duty to take pictures (anything beats marching). Of course my boss/best friend the S5 forgot to mention that I had to stand on top of the press box roof, in the cold, and wind...for 2 hours. The 'brass' of the battalion...from left to right, our high school principal, the XO, and the battalion commander.       The staff...from left to right, the XO, the S1, S2, S3, S4, and my boss/best friend the S5 (weari...

8. More Semi Formal Trouble   (18 Nov 2008)
I've almost decided that instead of a one button peak dinner jacket from Tuxedosonline,I should get a one button shawl from JAB.I think that the dinner jacket would be far better in terms of quality, and the price is not that much more when on sale. What do you think? The peak: http://www.tuxedosonline.com/detail.asp?product_id=M1BP The shawl: http://www.josbank.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id= 6000&pcount=&Product_Id=25 Of course there is a third option (and it comes with th...

9. Hair: Going formal or looking like myself   (22 Oct 2008)
I'm starting to think about hair for the big day, and am looking for some opinions. As some background, I've got a chin-length bob, and have been planning for months to go with a really simple half-up style (and veil), like this one that was posted by deepspace awhile ago: > But today, I decided to try on all my wedding paraphernalia to check out jewelry and underwear and see if everything would work together, and I was playing with my hair. I had it half-up, but then I couldn't see my earrin...

I have always worn my Rolex DateJust but ive been thinking about a switch in my regular rotation to this Omega 601 Calibre Geneve But the question im now asking myself is for my more formal wear IE work or nights out, do i switch to the Omega for awhile and leave the Rolex to rest up?
