1. Twitching/vibrating fuel gauge - Not the fuel pump assembly.   (25 Sep 2008)
Ok, here's the situation to recap: '99 suburban bought not all too long ago in need of a few fixes. This particular one deals with the fuel gauge needle. Tied in with another issue. Since having bought the 'burban the fuel gauges buzzes really fast back and forth. I don't think I trust it's reading either. Although it shows almost full when I actually fill up, when it gets near empty it starts to be more erratic and will actually move from E to partially full to totally full to way back down to...

2. Single SVT Focus fuel pump and BAP enough   (26 Sep 2008)
I'm going to be hitting the car with a 200 shot pretty soon, and I currently have one of those Steeda replacement fuel pumps that supposedly flow 40% more than stock. I feel the need to upgrade. I know I could do the 03/04 Cobra twin pump and tank swap, but wouldn't a single SVT focus pump and perhaps a 20 amp BAP be more than enough? I was told a nitrous setup requires less fuel than a boost setup at the same power levels. I'll be looking at making around 500rwhp. All opinions welcomed!!!

3. 11mm pump, is it necessary? Also, fuel economy...   (30 Sep 2008)
I may be in need of a new IP, and I'm trying to decide if I want to go 10mm again or 11mm. I have only upgraded nozzles (pp520) and the intercooler on my car so far, but I was planning on getting a new clutch and a tune in the next few months. I'm also thinking about a turbo upgrade, but that won't likely happen until a year or more from now. I noticed the latest thread on Kerma's Evil Beetle, which appears to be making 250+ hp (with nitrous) and so probably somewhere well above 200 hp without....

4. Dual Fuel LP/Heat Pump Questions   (13 Nov 2008)
Hi all. I recently had a friend (licensed hvac installer for 20 years) install me a 3.5 ton add-on heat pump for my 80k btu LP furnance. This replaced a 10yo 3 ton 10seer A/C unit. We also installed a White-Rodgers 1F97-1277 thermostat that has some nice features for controlling the heat pump (algorithms for programmed setbacks, energy management for peak cooling, etc.) I’m in Ohio and it occasionally gets very cold, but average January low is 20°F, average high is 38°F. I’ve historically used 1...

5. My fuel connectors attached to the fuel pump mounting plate.   (17 Nov 2008)
Hello Team: As I mentioned on my previous post: http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...=1#post1577965 The fuel connectors linking each of the feed and return fuel hoses to the fuel pump mounting plate got fractured and a little amount of gasoline start leaking. The gasoline got in top of the water pump cover and the cover start leaking water on the top side. (I guess the fuel damage the gasket). That's the way I found the gasoline leak..!!!! Anyway..I was planning to take it to the stealership to...

6. Airtex Fuel Pumps - Buyer Beware   (29 Oct 2008)
In Oct. 2007, the original Fuel Pump in my 2000 4.3L 4dr, 2wd, Jimmy went out. I had the Fuel Pump replaced (long story) with a brand new Airtex brand aftermarket Fuel Pump and filter. Within 7 months, in April of 2008, I noticed the truck was getting harder and harder to start. It originally fired on the turn of the key, but progressively got to the point where the starter had to turn the engine over for 5-10 seconds before it would finally fire. Since the Pump was under warranty, my mechanic a...

7. R2 Fuel Pump   (20 Nov 2008)
I am building a supercharged 259 this winter and thinking about fuel delivery. I plan on running about 7-9 lbs of boost. Will the R2 fuel pump be able to keep up? I was thinking I may need to go electric and have a regulator that references boost pressure to raise the fuel pressure. Anybody have any thoughts?? Dan Giblin Cincinnati, OH

8. Fuel Pump Alternative?   (19 Nov 2008)
While my scoot is sitting in my shop in pieces waiting for my replacement fuel pump to arrive, I was wondering the feasibility of upgrading the unit to something a little less finicky... I know these pumps need to work at around 100psi with a relatively low amp draw, and I see a few high end race pumps come close in the numbers department. Would something like this: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku be feasible? While the bike is apart I may start fresh with a completely new...

10. Fuel pump advice needed   (14 Nov 2008)
I am going to be running a 400 sbc with an F2 at about 25 pounds of boost. I was thinking about trying the race pump's mechanical piston pump with boost refrence regulator. I don't like how loud big electric pump's are and am limited on space(f-body car). I don't see anything mentioned about the piston pump's and was wondering if anybody uses one. If anybody does use one are they decent or will I be if I purchase one. One last thing I am running a blow through. Thanks!!
