So what to do?
Preface the discussion with 1) I'm not in a hurry right now, I can wait; 2) I'll build it for between $2,500-3,500; and 3) it will be water-cooled, and silent.
I'll probably start building early next spring. Hey, I said I wasn't in a hurry!
So what would y'all do? Wait for Core i7 and X58, or use existing tech, like a higher-end Yorkfield Quad and Intel X38/48, or Nvidia 790? Or Intel P45?
This time around, I'm seriously thinking of going ATI instead of Nvidia. I've just had tons...

Hey,
I am going to invest a fair bit of money in two 24" LCD screens or one 30" screen.
What is the best monitor for gaming, video etc. My price limit is upwards of $1100. I am currently looking at the Acer G24.
What is the best monitor available with a reasonable price?

I am a bit out of touch and going to build a new Gaming machine. This looks balanced to me but If any one sees anything wrong with this spec I would like to hear. I would like to go 64 bit XP pro- Would this limit available games. Might do a bit of OC as well.

Opinions wanted on a gaming style

Opinions wanted on a gaming style OK, first off, I don't know what to call my particular style of gaming. Accepting nominations for a name to call it by.
But basically, I rely alot on cut-scenes, written out stories, and even collaborative stories with my players, fully integrated into the ongoing game. This is benefitted partially by the fact that we play online, so everything that we do is written out anyway.

I'm thinking about buying myself a new computer, mainly for gaming, since this computer burns when it even sees GTA SA.
Away from that, I'm interested in an Alienware Area-51 or Area-51 ALX.

what do u think about having planes in alan wake? i think they should have some float planes and maybe graveled run ways with another plane, my reason is with this game having the largest mapped area in all gaming( i think) their should be planes, people might not like planes, well then don't use them if u don't want to. because thousands of people love planes and thousnads don't. if alan wake has a plane in it, then i bet tons of people will think the game has it all. not everyone likes planes,...

your method of the wireless gaming adapter will work, but use ddwrt.
i have my 360, ps2, samsung tv, and bdp-1500 all hooped up using this router. it works great.

Please help me choose an LCD, I can get the 27"(2009 model) from my work's Dell rep for $726 which he told me is only $30 more than the 24" (2008 model).
what im trying to work out is which one is better (if one is better at all) for HD movies( is ghosting an issue?) gaming (again ghosting an issue?) i guess that there is some ghosting with every lcd monitor?
Also im thinking that maybe i would need to sit back alot further if i have a 27"? at home i use a 17" crt, at work a 15" laptop so theres...
