Kevin Mchale as Bigman coach?
(18 Dec 2008)
What do you guys think about Kevin as our bigman coach? I am a big SAR fan, but cmon....Bynum gets Kareem, Hawes gets...SAR.
this is the last year of Kevin's contract. I think with his crafty game he would be a perfect mentor for Hawes and JT.

A new deal¡¡¡
(19 Nov 2008)
I'm a new boy in that forum and I have thinking about a trade with Chicago Bulls.
KINGS
Out: John Salmons, Shelden Williams and Mikki Moore
In: Kirk Hinrich (When he will be OK), Aaron Gray and Tyrus Thomas.
BULLS
Out: Kirk Hinrich (When he will be OK), Aaron Gray and Tyrus Thomas.
In: John Salmons, Shelden Williams and Mikki Moore
FOR KINGS
* Thomas is a young player who can play like PF and C. I think about him playing of the bench with Thompson and Hawes like starters.
* Hinrich is a very wel...

[BETA] Cold as Hell: Closed Beta (closed for now... haw)
(22 Oct 2008)
UPDATE: Really great response here, so I've got enough testers for the time being. I'll let everyone know if I need more for whatever reason.
Cold as Hell: Special Edition is actually quite far along. In fact, it's far enough along that all that really needs to be done at this point is related to either storyline (voice acting, mostly) or general atmosphere. In terms of gameplay and what-not, it is very near completion.
Now, would you like to play CaH: SE a little bit early? Sure you would. So,...

Yee-Haw. Sounds like a plan.
(03 Dec 2008)
Please note that Texas is the only state with a legal right to secede from
the Union . (Reference the Texas-American Annexation Treaty of 1848.)
We Texans love y'all, but we'll probably have to take action since B.
Hussein Obama won the election. We'll miss you too.
Here is what can happen:
#1: Barack Hussein Obama becomes President of the United States , Texas
immediately secedes from the Union .
#2: George W. Bush will become the President of the Republic of Texas .
So what does Texas have to...

Shaq interview in the Sacramento Bee
(17 Nov 2008)
This interview has been making the rounds kinda.
http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs...es/017025.html
some of the more interesting parts:
Quote: : Q: Could you and Kobe ever have existed together or did you have to go your separate ways?
A: Yeah, we could have. We never had a problem. We never had a problem. I swear to God. On the court, we never had a problem.
Q: Don't even say that. Don't even try.
A: It's just that I'd say stuff, he'd say stuff. I think it was all designed by Phil (Jackson)....

HOMER ALERT: Heart and hustle
(26 Nov 2008)
No, we didn't win. Yes, we made mistakes.
But, day-um. The Kings played with heart and hustle. They made the Trailblazers beat them and they didn't make it easy.
Jason Thompson, Bobby Brown, Donte Greene, Spencer Hawes. That's a impressive group of kids we've got playing for us and they're only gonna get better.
Heart and hustle - that's what it's all about and it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!
And for those of you not used to my homer rantings, I'm sorry. Feel f...

The Thabeet Gambit (split from game thread)
(04 Nov 2008)
Quote: : With our pick (1-5) we still can get a good guy. Unfortunately, the best guys there are bigs and SGs and we have Hawes, Thompson and Martin.
this belongs in personnel, but I am wondering about the Thabeet gambit. Rubio if we can get #1 or trade for #1 -- and hope he is the floor general fo the future. But if we slip a bit, taking the gambit on a 7'3" mega shotblocker is attractive to me. Make him the third big along with Spencer and Jason and have a huge frontline. Spencer can shift to...

How about a major northern meet??
(10 Nov 2008)
Hi,
Been thinking about this since I went up to Sedbergh and on to Carlisle via some of the back roads the other week. My initial plan is for the North West lot to come up to Kirkby Lonsdale/Sedbergh on the Friday night and visit a camp site (possibly in Sedbergh).
On Saturday leave Sedbergh and make our way accross country to Gardsale on the A684 and then go north up to Kirkby Stephen. This road is terrific as it is along side the railway and also the river so there are some great photo opportu...

Jazz Feature for Dec. 29:Eric Dolphy:"Outward Bound."
(28 Dec 2008)
Eric Allen Dolphy flashed across the Jazz horizon like a comet and physically vanished almost as soon as his arrival. Tonight, The Jazz Show is proud to present Eric's first album under his name called 'Outward Bound' that was recorded at the Van Gelder Studios for New Jazz (a Prestige subsidiary) on April 1, 1960. This recording, with it's wonderful surreal cover drawn by an artist named Prophet was my introduction to Dolphy and his music and to the ears of a 19 year old aspiring musician (your...
