Please start thinking about the CMG Meet-Up No. 2
(03 Nov 2008)
If you have been following the CMG Contributor's thread—probably not the best place to discuss a forthcoming Meet-Up—then you know there is substantial interest in such an event.
Since the original idea came from our dear Canadian friend, Henry Slofstra, we hope he will be involved again. Werner Isler, our esteemed long-time CMGer will be coordinating things again.
We will need to select a month that is convenient for everyone (February 2008 was our last meet-up), then select probably a weekend...

Henry Rollins
(11 Nov 2008)
Anyone else here a fan of his? He's awesome! Very opinionated, but very intelligent, down to Earth, and logical with his opinions on current events, technological advances, music, politics, entertainment, etc...
For anyone who may not be familiar with Rollins, he used to have a punk rock band simply called "The Henry Rollins Band" and he has a show called "The Henry Rollins Show" which currently airs on DirecTV's T101 channel and possibly other channels. He was also in the movie "Wrong Turn 2" w...

How would you improve the character of Steel (John Henry Irons)?
(21 Oct 2008)
I've been thinking about this for awhile. I think Steel has alot of untapped potential as a character. They seemingly have done a great job of developing Kon-El since the Death of Superman comic of the 1990's, but Steel who debut in the same comic has remained somewhat lackluster.
I notice they go all over the place with his character. One minute he has only his armor, the next he is a superpowered being via the Entropy Aegis. He loses those powers and then later on he gets the power to create a...

The Exaggerated Account of Henry Gale [parody] PG-13
(20 Oct 2008)
Title: The Exaggerated Account of Henry Gale [this is a parody] (abbreviated title)
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: No monkeys were harmed in the making of this story.

Does anyone have or know anything about these things? It looks pretty cool, but I don't know if it's actually a useless piece of shit. I'm thinking about buying it for someone for Christmas for sports/weather updates or whatever.

The Best Henry VIII Portrayal
(03 Nov 2008)
I'm taking an English History class, and the prof has been attempting to feed us different written versions of events, involving Anne Boleyn. I've had to read endless scholarly debates and rants on whetehr she was a whore who slept around or a a poor soul who got her head chopped off because Henry got bored of her after she didn't give him any viable heirs. Now I'm watching Anne of 1000 days, yet another Anne Boleyn story...It's quite good actually, even if the poor dear has been shoved down my...

Henry...living Stardivarius
(23 Oct 2008)
To day I had a great suprise. I managed to find Henry online on Skype. I am certain we talked for an hour and a half. In all my years here Henry is the only member CMG, I have actually spoken to. Naturally, most of the time was spent talking about the violin. It was interesting to find that Henry had heard very few of the earlier violinist. I played him recordings of Hubay, Chemet, Kulenkampff playing Abendlied by Schumann and several others. It was fascinating to hear his interesting comments,...
