1. Hijacked Threads   (09 Nov 2008)
We on the CFC are looking to further define this into a rule or something that gives us the jurisdiction so to speak, to push it back in the OP direction. "We" are all guilty of this if you really think about it, but where is the line when it comes to creating a rule for it? Many of you have asked about this, so here is your opportunity to help create the rule that helps us police it All input will be taken into consideration, this thread will be kept civil and this thread will be closed when we...

2. Hijacked?   (14 Dec 2008)
So, interesting story boiled down to the brass tacks: Mom's computer occasionally plays movie audio. I've discovered that whatever is doing this is doing it through Firefox. I figure this is the case because after closing firefox, the sound stays, and firefox uses anywhere from 200 to 500 megs of memory until I force-quit the process, which, hilariously enough, abruptly kills the audio. None of mom's browsing has anything to do with these movies, nor are these movies ever otherwise brought near...

3. can a sub-domain be hijacked?   (09 Dec 2008)
On Tue, 9 Dec 2008 00:58:01 +0000, Jeremy Nicoll - news posts <jn.nntp.scrap001@wingsandbeaks.org.uk This is, I think, a question that hinges on how DNS works. I got what appeared to be an email from PayPal inviting me to take part in a survey. The mail's plain text contained the URL to follow, which started: http://surveyc.paypal.com/survey/fac/pap/fac#####/uk? There were more parameters after the ? and the ##### part had a five digit number in it. PayPal's official support (ac...

4. Confederate Flag Tattoo - opinions?   (15 Nov 2008)
Once I get my dragon finished tomorrow by Sean in the Vibe Mullingar, my thoughts will change to my next one, been doing lots of research on colours for the Dragon on my back and seen loads of other Tats in the meantime. One of the foremost contenders is a confederate flag tattoo, I really like the one attached in both presentation and location. One thing thats holding me back a bit is the controversy that this symbol presents to many people. Let me explain first that I'm a huge American civil w...

5. Opinions please (long)   (19 Oct 2008)
I hijacked someone else's thread so I figured i'd make my own. My son is 5 years old. It all started when he was about two weeks and I thought he had a really bad cold - he coughed and wheezed terribly. he has been nebulized almost daily since birth and on pulmicort, oripred, albuterol, xopenex, flovent...etc. They tested him for CF at 6 months old. His sweat test was normal (15). We never looked back. We accepted that our boy had really bad asthma and a ton of mucus. He has spent the years whee...

6. First flaming, then trolling and insults?   (18 Nov 2008)
This isn't pointed directly at anyone. But, during the past weeks there has definitely been a massive change in the forum. It's almost like the members have made their own "groups" and, in these "groups", tackle, start flamewars, hi-jack topics and troll other individuals and "groups" like they have some kind of ego. I understand that people have their own opinions, and why someone could strongly disagree with it; But what kind of discussion is saying something like "could not give a fuck what y...

7. INFECTED!   (04 Dec 2008)
My account has been hijacked and is now probably sending you ppl links to somewhere. DON'T KLICK THEM! He'll get you too! I have reported this to the guys at steam and I bet it's all under control, but for now: Be aware! I will post here when I'm freed from this guy. and also, this is spreading! anyone sending links to you, DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT KLICKING ON THEM! IT MIGHT BE HIM! This appears to be a somewhat large scam and many ppl might be involved. or a bot. I hope this/these guy(s) get what...

8. The Great Trip Report Hijack Thread   (02 Dec 2008)
I'll back Skifishbum up on one thing: the TR differences. I've been whining about the "Hey look at me at the top of the run" and the "Hey look at me enjoying a beer in the lodge" steeze that rules the Epic TRs. While there are definitely exceptions, the general rule is to post pix of folks standing around in ski gear as opposed to pix of them actually skiing. You click a TR on TGR and 90% of the pix are of people actually skiing. And if they are standing around they're doing something goofy and...

9. Annoyances at characters   (20 Nov 2008)
While there's plenty to dislike about more than a few people shown to be in EU's employ, and not unjustifiably so, I got to thinking about the various characters, and I noticed that there hasn't been all that much said about one of the main characters who is indirectly responsible for everything that's happened to Flo. Basically, I'm wondering where's the annoyance about what Sam has put her through, both directly and not. If, for starters, he hadn't hijacked her, she'd still be a pupsicle (sorr...

10. Oil tanker hijacked   (18 Nov 2008)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/7734733.stm 450 miles offshore and a ULCC... This is getting ridiculous. That far out I doubt the ship even had its security measures in place, which for merchant ships are very minimal...as in lock the doors. Being a tanker it's not a very hard target... very slow and a low freeboard (water to deck distance) when fully laden. Speculation & Opinion zone: With an attack this far out of the usual zone for hijackings I wonder if this is a result of other attacks be...
