1. The Huddle | Write for The Huddle at Nationals   (10 Sep 2008)
On Wed, 10 Sep 2008 15:21:01 -0700 (PDT), Bearseth <andy.lovseth@gmail.com The UPA Club Championship Series begins this weekend with Sectional tournaments being held all around the country. While we cannot cover every Section, or even every Region, we are looking to Sarasota at the end of October to bring our readers innovative coverage of Nationals. We have some really interesting ideas of how to present our coverage, but we need some help. We are searching for 1-2 writers to help report...

2. No Huddle Special Teams...   (05 Nov 2008)
Think how confused the camera crews would be! Man, there's no way we wouldn't take at least 2 to the house per game... Think about it Booby April!

3. Mickey Mentions JMU 1-A Plans on Dukes Huddle   (29 Oct 2008)
Mickey Quote: about JMU's plans to move to 1-A "Us saying we're not thinking about going to 1-a with all the... spending 50 million on our stadium is like a couple getting married and they buy a 10 bedroom house and someone asks them if they are thinking about having children. I think it's our ultimate goal." "We dont play good teams in the playoffs. We play the best!" -Coach Matthews James Madison University Athletics: A Tradition of Excellence JMU Football: 2004: Division 1-AA National Champio...

4. No-huddle offense   (24 Sep 2008)
I was just curious what you all think about going with the no-huddle from the get-go next week. I admit I missed the first half (sigh...future mother-in-law just had to have her birthday on a Sunday this year), but based on the 2nd half the passing game was a lot more effective when we went to the no-huddle and the defense was on its heels. Is it even feasible to start off a game like this, and would you?

5. Wild Tiger   (12 Nov 2008)
Ok watching them run a few of those plays got me thinking Could this be the future of LSU football???? Think about this. Sheppard is coming in January and has said in an interview that he wants to play his first year EVEN IF its not at QB. Now from the vids I have seen this kid is the real deal. Can you imagine a offense breaking the huddle with Murphy, Sheppard and Jefferson? Not really sure how I would feel about going to this style of offense but it would be fun to watch.

6. Huddle Band members   (30 Aug 2008)
I know a decent amount of huddlers are in or have been in bands in the past. I was just curious as to the backrounds on your bands. I dont know what made me think about this. I have played guitar since I was a freshman in High school. I was in my first band my Junior year in high School. We did originals and covers. We used to cover a lot of Van Halen and made a few demo tapes. I am still very good friends with the singer of that band. We had a great time playing the local clubs and at local eve...

7. How often is Edwards allowed to audible?   (01 Oct 2008)
The thread about our old triplets compared to our new ones got me to thinking about this. Jimbo basically ran the entire offense back in the day because of the no huddle. So I got to thinking...does anyone know if Trent has full control to audible whenever he deems it necessary? Maybe I'm not paying attention but I can't recall him changing plays at the line very often in the first 4 games. I have seen him make blocking adjustments or have a guy shift but how often does he call an audible? Does...

8. Colts offensive struggles   (05 Nov 2008)
I heard Tim Hasselbeck on the radio yesterday and he had an interesting theory about the Colts offensive troubles. He thinks the biggest reason they've struggled is the defensive headsets. He believes the new rule hurts teams that use the no huddle now that they can't see defensive signals. The rule is that the headset is active until 15 seconds left on the play call. So teams could line up and the coaches could watch the defensive signals while they were talking to the QB. Now since coaches can...

9. Black and Gold Go A Bit Exotic   (29 Aug 2008)
It is all well and good to go "all out", and I like it.... I just hated the fact that we lost Harrison for the season during a meaningless game... Black and Gold go a bit exotic By ERIC KNOPSNYDER The Tribune-Democrat PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense was anything but vanilla in its final preseason game, a 19-16 win over Carolina on Thursday at Heinz Field. Teams usually don’t show much in the final tune-up for the regular season, but coach Mike Tomlin gave the Houston Texans somethi...

10. I'm a little conflicted, thinking of redoing my tank.   (02 Nov 2008)
So, I have an mbuna tank, Kenyi, Electric Yellow, Acei and one bushynose pleco. I don't like the activity in the tank. I find it both agitating and boring all at the same time. All 4 Acei huddle together in the top middle of the tank with 2 of the Yellow's. The two Kenyi flank those 6 fish, will dive bomb at them, or heard them back to their grouping in the top middle. The remaining Yellow hides in the rocks 99% of the time with the 1% not hiding will chase the other Yellow's around. Finally, th...
