Intel vs AMD, your opinions on which I should go with?

Ok, as you might know, if you've seen my "Choices, choices" thread, i'm looking to build a new rig sometime in the near future.
I'll hopefully get some cash for Christmas to put towards it, so i'm holding out on ordering it until then.
One thing i've been thinking about, is whether to get an Intel, or an AMD processor.
I've had good experiences with both in the past, and as you know, (if you've seen my other thread) i've got an AMD Phenom X4 Quad listed.
I'm definitely willing to get an Intel in...

Need opinions! AMD or INTEL, look inside.

Pretty much I am going to be buying a new computer soon, and can't decide what I want to do, the last time I upgraded my computer was probably 4 years ago lol, currently running an x800 pro and amd 64 3000+ 1.6ghz, time to upgrade. The case I will be using is a thermaltake xaser III (getting it for 30 bucks), and arctic cooling freezer 7 Pro, or arctic cooling freezer 64 Pro

Ok so I am building a new PC this sunday...
Got kinda a rough idea of prices thanks to rounding off from a few sites and memory from last computer fair. These are the two builds I am interested in.
Open to suggestions on the buying parts etc aswell, appreciate any ideas XD
*Note, -Generic- means the best buy I can find there on the day, not crappest, cheapest version. These are only rough price indexes.

My current setup right now is basically
Processor : Intel QX9650
Motherboard: Asus Maximus Formula
Ram: 2 gb Mushkin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Video Card: Nvidia 8800GT
Thermaltake Toughpower 1200w
Case: Thermaltake Armor
Edit: Edited out old plan (which wouldn't have worked I am a noob) and replaced with new plan.
I'm thinking about upgrading my motherboard to either a 790i with SLI or a X48 with crossfire? Which would be better there? I really know nothing about ATI cards right now.

Need Opinions on Intel Atom N270 processor

I'm looking to get a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 netbook and noticed it had a Atom N270 processor (1.6 GHz, 533 FSB, 512 KB cache, Hyperthreading).
I wanted some opinions on this processor. I'm a little weary of it because it's not a dual core, but it is a 45nm processor and only uses about 3W of power (as opposed to 25W+ for other current desktop dual core processors).
Is the fact the N270 is only a single core going to matter much? I mainly am doing typing, Internet, listening to music, watching DVDs a...

What Intel CPU do you miss?

I saw a thread in the AMD forum that made me think about this. The thread was " I miss the AMD mobiles.". I wanted to reply with an Intel CPU but of course, wrong forum. I was going to say I miss my old P4 1.6A. Man those would overclock. I remember getting mine to 2.9Ghz air-cooled.
So what CPU do you miss?

Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted. I just found out that a local shop in my country is selling complete computers, really cheap, so I figured maybe I'll just buy a new one (my budget is low atm). Tell me what do you think about this:
