1. Aren't all 5s intelligent?   (22 Nov 2008)
I was reading another thread, and Mr. Bw said not all 5s are intelligent. I'm not saying I disagree, but this statement doesn't make sense to me. And without getting into a lenghty discussion about what intelligence actually is (I'm a firm believer in multiple intelligences, etc.), I'd like to hear others' opinions here. I've never, ever met a 5 who wasn't intelligent in the "classic" sense. Isn't the whole focus of the type learning and developing the mind -- aka intelligence? Wouldn't a natura...

2. Origin Of Intelligent Life Blog, For Christmas!   (28 Dec 2008)
Seeing how I became so focused on the "Theory of Intelligent Design" this year I wanted to try another over-the-forum Christmas present that has no ID in it at all. For some time I was putting together an ID free public-school safe "Origin Of Intelligent Life" blog/website for here by morning, and made it! It should also be in a closed loop so that following links will not take the reader to the ID theory. If you're wondering how I can seriously just up and write a whole new theory like this it'...

3. Those who have/are thinking about moveing away from windows.   (14 Oct 2008)
I'm not createing this thread to let it turn into a freakin flame war... I want the true and honest opinion of the intelligent people that roam this forum. What is your future outlook on your use of windows? Will you ever consider moving away from windows completely? Have you already? I personally have tried and failed for some simple reason... games. I'm not bringing this up as a flame bait though, it's actually more in the line of my problem but, also it's a stress releif and windows (sadly) i...

4. R U really Intelligent???   (20 Dec 2008)
If you think that you're really an intelligent person then give the answers of the following tricky questions A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second is full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full of lions that haven't eaten in 3 years. Which room is safest for him? A woman shoots her husband. Then she holds him under water for over 5 minutes. Finally, she hangs him. But 5 minutes later they both go out a...

5. Why the notion of intelligent design doesn't stand up   (21 Nov 2008)
[/Quote: ] Thursday, November 20, 2008 Why the notion of intelligent design doesn't stand up Proponents of intelligent design should stop fighting battles they cannot win, writes William Reville THE intelligent design (ID) movement believes that life is far too complex to have arisen and developed by natural mechanisms. ID proposes that life is a product of conscious design by a super-intelligent designer - in other words God - although ID does not specifically identify the designer. This interp...

6. Intelligent Design debate   (19 Nov 2008)
I recently found myself entangled in a discussion on IRC about intelligent design with two of its proponents. While I think I irrevocably ruined two friendships, I am more curious about the opinions of those on the forum. Do not hold back, I'd rather come closer to knowing the truth than be emotionally comforted: Originally Posted by IRC 06[19:35] * Matt is currently in the process of making fun of intelligent design. 06[19:38] * @Cele believes in intelligent design 01[19:40] <Matt> I thin...

7. Intelligent Flash/Flex games   (28 Nov 2008)
So, I have one small Flex game finished, one larger one that just needs more levels and sound effects, and a third, more polished one in the works. The original idea with these games was that I was going to launch my own site in the spring, and set up some sort of micropayment/unlockable content structure to create a middleground between free, crappy Flash games, and 20$ downloadables. At some point, the whole thing started to seem to daunting, and I chickened out and decided that I was going to...

8. Science's Alternative to an Intelligent Creator   (17 Nov 2008)
Quote: : Science's Alternative to an Intelligent Creator: the Multiverse Theory 11.10.2008 Our universe is perfectly tailored for life. That may be the work of God or the result of our universe being one of many. by Tim Folger A sublime cosmic mystery unfolds on a mild summer afternoon in Palo Alto, California, where I’ve come to talk with the visionary physicist Andrei Linde. The day seems ordinary enough. Cyclists maneuver through traffic, and orange poppies bloom on dry brown hills near Linde...

9. Road to creative-intelligent thought is closed due to monkey steam   (10 Dec 2008)
I thought thinking of an idea, and working on it until its perfected would be hard, but I was under the impression that that was part of the fun. I thought if I learnt a bit about game making, art, music, video making etc, and took a shot at all of them, I could find something I enjoy, will be able to improve and also think of some good ideas. I didn't expect to be any good straight away. I expected it would be hard to learn. But I had hoped, and expected, to have motivation and come up with ide...

10. Disappointed in intelligent people   (18 Nov 2008)
My mother has a genius IQ. My grandmother was born in NH, knew Bob Ross, owned art supply stores.. and was as patriotic as they come. As a kid I thought everybody had my Nana. She was the most peaceful person in the world until our rights were brought up. She instilled a distrust of government, to be proud of personal responsibility and to appreciate art and intelligence. She was pretty fucking awesome and one of a kind. My mom voted for Obama.. my grandmother would have beat me for that vote. (...
