A new Interactive Challenge - Would anyone be interested?
(25 Oct 2008)
A new Interactive Challenge - Would anyone be interested? I was thinking, that as my first ever written up challenge, I'd try it as an Interactive one! I don't mean to steal all of lovesdirt88's ideas...but...this is the way she put it!
Basically, one person plays the game while others decide how it will happen. Participants vote on baby names, potential mates, who is to be heir in the case of more than one child, etc etc. Pretty much, anything major that happens to a sim in his/her lifetime wou...

Interactive Data Language, IDL: Does anybody care? Overflow
(04 Nov 2008)
Anyone use a language called Interactive Data Language, IDL? It is popular with scientists. I think it is a poor language because it is proprietary (every terminal running it has to have an expensive license purchased) and it has minimal support (try searching for IDL, the language, right now on stack) . I am trying to convince my colleagues to stop using it and learn C/C++/Python/Fortran/Java/Ruby. Does anybody know about or even care about IDL enough to have opinions on it? What do you think o...

Doing a interactive map
(05 Dec 2008)
Hi.
I always have been thinking about this but don“t know how to solve it.
Imagine a map of Mexico City (I live here, I am a soil mechanics engineer) in autocad. In my area we do and perform some kind of test named borings... in my work we have a lot (hundred of them), and I would like to organize them in autocad... My idea is...
Locate every boring in its real location in the city (in plan view), and if the person who is watching the autocad-boring-base, can click the mark for the boring (maybe...

SHIPs and interactive environments - PLEASE!
(27 Oct 2008)
I'm curious how everyone else feels about Space flight, combat and travel. I'm an avid gamer from way back, and would LOVE to see some real (or nearly real) physics involved in this MMO.
I'm old school gaming... I remember a game called ELITE. Some of you may be familiar with it. Either way, there is a more modern version of this game called Final Frontiers. You take off from a space port, and fly into space. You have to take into consideration the relative speed of the planet compared to your s...

Interactive Monologue Script
(19 Oct 2008)
Not of spoken dialogue or of memos/notes, since those can be found in sites like gamefaqs.
Here are transcripts of character monologue in Silent Hill 3.
Meaning, Heather's comments when she checks some self, book, hole etc.
For example, if you check the bathroom mirror she comments: "I don't like mirrors. It's almost like there's an unknown world right on the other side. And the person starring at me isn't really me, just an imitator. I know how stupid that sounds, but that how I feel. But if I...

Interactive mock - 1st round results...
(13 Dec 2008)
I just finished this interactive mock that I started after WK 11 & just thought I would share it w you guys!
This was just for fun & reflects who the different forums wanted not particurily who the brass wanted or what might really happen.
I am looking forward to feedback but WILL NOT BE DOING CHANGES OR TRADES because I might still do a 2nd round!!!
I asked forums to try not to pick prospects unlikely to come out.
I asked for no trades!!! (just makes interactive mock to complicated)

Interactive Environments
(12 Dec 2008)
I was just reading the post about Scout update suggestions and I had an idea, not sure if it's been mentioned before or not: interactive environments. I figure this would make the maps different each time you played, and would give certain advantages/disadvantages depending on how you went at it.
I think these destructible walls would give a new dimension and depth to Demos and Soldiers. I think it could get expanded to different materials take different amounts of bombs/rockets to destroy (wood...
