A grim article I'd like to see opinions about. Thanks. http://community.investopedia.com/news/IA/2008/Contract-Drillers-Face-Tough-Times-In-09-SLB-HAL-RIG-BHI1224.aspx?partner=YahooSA

3. Level 3 Communications, Inc. - Where is the LVLT message board? -- Hey Pussy...   (03 Nov 2008)
I know we have a very big day tomorrow in America but there are message boards for all your political issues that you want to voice. I am here only looking for open opinions on LVLT and nothing else. I heard that Legg Mason bought more shares in LVLT over the past week. Can anyone verify this information? I sure wish LVLT management would throw some money into buying shares with all their positive talk on what they have to say about LVLT. When will they walk their talk?

4. Falcon Oil & Gas Ltd. - Phil - FO.V - InvestorVillage   (09 Nov 2008)
For real, could you, all of you, please discuss on facts, not opinions? At least TRY? If you think Rusty is wrong with his $5 SP target or his opinion on the UPL comparison, just argue him with FACTS and no personal stuff. Geeez, that can't be so hard if there are facts to prove him wrong. And if there are none, just act like adults and don't argue at all. And for those who say, I was always defending him: I would be very very happy if I don't had to and could easily prove that he is wrong on th...

5. Braskem S.A. - Borrowing for investment - BAK - InvestorVillage   (06 Jan 2009)
I'm interested in you guys' opinions on this--I'm planning to refinance my mortgage at 4.625%.  I can get cash out if I want.  Right now, for example, a Vanguard intermediate-term national muni fund pays about 5.7% taxable equivalent for my bracket, or 6.5% for California bonds (where I live.)  Any reason not to do this?  (Of course, Vanguard munis are just an example; I'd split it over more than one fixed-income investment.  I know a CEF would pay more but for this money I don't want the risk o...

6. TiVo Inc. - TiVo HD - diablo - TIVO - InvestorVillage   (11 Dec 2008)
I bought my third TiVo last week, my first HD model. I did not like that I had to do two software updates and restarts before I reached version 11 of the software. I also was not too thrilled with TiVo's rather poor customer service and support. However, the box rocks and cablecard works seamlessly. It is nice not to have a cable box lying around and not to have to wait for the channel changer. My TiVo To Go transfers still seem glitchy though. Sometimes my pc is there and sometimes it is not. D...

7. Fannie Mae - GM: Laisse Fair (sp) may be a luxury we can't afford - FNM -...   (08 Nov 2008)
I read the posts about letting GM go broke....cleanse the system...et al...and I intellectually understand the argument but I've been thinking about the collateral damage....think of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and further....the suppliers, the dealers on and on...."Smartnotes"...read about that? Mom and Pop's savings! Chrysler is gone...I posted last night about Hyandai negotiating to buy Jeep think they'll make them in Oshkosh? or the USA? If Ford might have otherwise made it thru, the economic ra...

8. Campbell Resources Inc. - Coming together - CCH.TO - InvestorVillage   (18 Oct 2008)
Despite our opinions, this is the time that ALL of us start concidering working together for justice if it is true and we all have been sodomized against our will. There are no more good guys and bad guys. We're ALL loosers that have been stolen from. AF has stolen years of my life. All those days, weeks, months working away from my family-for my family. He stole that time away from me. I don't take that lightly. Though I'm not a violent person, I'm not wishing for good will towards him. Those t...

9. Campbell Resources Inc. - Tempest in a Teapot or Much to Do About Nothing...   (29 Dec 2008)
Really funny, Benson is still making "more sense with more data" that all of this thrashing, mock passion and misdirected anger. I do not like his style but I do like his data and perspective. Even when he is wrong, I can determine the facts or opinions on which we disagree. But who cares about Benson, who cares whether Fordster is a Basher, who cares whether Speed lies. I don't have time for this nonsense and neither should any of you. Benson, you are wasting your time and energy until we get s...

10. PM from anonymous - TMR - InvestorVillage   (30 Dec 2008)
A poster who wishes to remain anonymous requested I repost these thoughts for analysis:   "You need to "ask esanto" a general b.s. question on tmr boards, just to flush him out...he's been MIA since 12/21/08, interesting, what has he known, to cause his obvious absence from posting?   Valuesleuth posted where this "thing" is sorta heading, MAYBE...BREAKUP VALUE. Problem is, not much interest in good producing fields with credit markets being what they are, let alone high cost dollar swapping cha...
