1. Sunday Dinner   (10 Oct 2008)
I am thinking about having Sunday dinner at my house. Which of these would you choose if you were a guest? a) Cobb Salad – Grilled chicken breast, boiled egg, shredded cheese, avocado chunks, tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, green onion and black olives with homemade ranch dressing on the side. This meal will be served with garlic bread and raspberry sorbet for dessert. b) Beef Pot Roast – Pot roast seasoned and simmered in a red wine. Served with oven roasted garlic potatoes, fresh steamed broccoli an...

2. My first choice, so far, for Tday potluck side dish   (16 Nov 2008)
This Wed. we are having a Thanksgiving day pot luck at work. I'm to bring a side dish. I would like my dish to be something different and maybe a bit out of the ordinary, and that can be served at room temperature. I know, picky huh! ;-) The kitchen gets crowded and busy with everyone needing to get their dish warmed up. Here's what I thought I'd do. In this month's issue of Saveur magazine is a beautiful article on Laos. In that article is a recipe for Jaew Mak Len, a tomato dip for vegetables....

Attention know it all SAS MMA posters: Please help with this thread! It is here to make the noobs less noobish, and the stupids less stupid. In theory, the better this thread is, the better all our MMA threads should be, so please add info for me to edit into the OP, and try to answer questions clearly, and in a non-dickish manner. As anyone reading this knows, MMA is currently enjoying a renaissance. Pay per view events are putting up record numbers, ticket sales are up, and even network TV is...

5. FEDX Presents: That's What She Said (9/28/08) Results!   (29 Sep 2008)
The camera fades in from black and pans across the jam packed Air Canada Center in Toronto, Ontario Canada as the fans wildly cheer the start of yet another FedX production. Prominant among the hundreds of fan signs, are signs supporting hometown Toronto talent, The Advocate and Sam Osborne and the rare, but noticeable Josh Harmony signs. An odd chant of 'Go Leafs Go' breaks out as the fans anticipate the start to the night. In the distance, 'All the Things She Said' by Russian faux lesbian grou...

6. 5 minute Artisan.   (25 Oct 2008)
On Sat, 25 Oct 2008 12:10:52 GMT, John LaBella <blank@dev.com I came across a reference to this and then saw an online video and co incidentally found the book at the Library. I made a "double batch" and tried the first loaf last night - The premise is that you keep a supply of the dough "retarded" in the fridge and pull off as much as you need (but with little kneading - small joke) to make your loaves. Using volume the formula I used was 3 cups water (warm about 100F) 3 tablespn sal...
