1. Thinking about a lefty rifle.   (15 Dec 2008)
I'm kicking around the idea of buying a left-handed rifle. Any opinions about the Remington 700 XCR or the Ruger 77 Stainless W/laminated stock? I have a Leupold Vari-X3 silver finish in my safe awaiting a partner. I know that there are a lot of negative opinions around the fire about Savage rifles, but they're not out of the running either. 2. Thinking about getting a Pinnatus Bat!!!   (28 Dec 2008)
My LFS has one available that's about 8" and I'm thinking about adding it to my tank. I'm looking for some opinions but not just the old, "they cannot survive and should be left in the ocean". While I realize that many people feel this way, and you are entitled to your opinion, this is not really the purpose of this thread. I'm looking to see if anyone knows of success stories with these guys. If so, got any information about the successful setup and feeding habits. Also I have a couple of books...

6. Something to think about   (11 Nov 2008)
On Tue, 11 Nov 2008 02:50:48 GMT, MangoMan <aleseeker@OberstUbahnfhrer.com From Dan Denning at the Old Hat Factory: --"Shares may slip as U.S. mood gets darker," reports Allison Jackson in today's Australian. Indeed. We've had some dark days in the last year here at the Old Hat Factory. But for whatever reason, today is one of the darkest that we can recall. --Here's a warning. Today's Daily Reckoning is largely about the growing tension between individual liberty and the coercive powe...

7. What do you think about Poles?   (29 Dec 2008)
What do you think about Poles?Hello. In last few years many of mine countrymen left their mother country for the "better future" in other places. I assume that many of you have encountered some polish folks and I wanna know how do you recognize them. Please, be honest, you may even flame them but try to keep it in acceptable level. Thanks in advance and sorry for mine bad english

8. Ever think about building your own boat?   (02 Jan 2009)
I remeber my dad built two boats when I was very young. They were both small row boats that could handle a 3 hp motor. Each one was a work of art, in my opinion. They were v hulled and constructed from bent wood planks, not sheets of plywood. The process of bending the wood was amazing to watch. Dad built a fire in a 55 gallon drum. Inside the drum was a large diameter steel pipe. Once the pipe got good and hot, he would insert one of the planks for the hull and then pour in about a gallow of wa...

9. GOP already thinking about 2012   (09 Nov 2008)
Politico runs a story today with several high-profile Republican names who might be, in some capacity, interested in a 2012 run for President Yeah, it's early, Obama isn't even officially President yet, and 2012 is still 4 years away... But for a party in decline the way the Republican Party is right now, one has to think that if they don't start whispering and talking about 2012 now, they won't get any traction and won't have any chance to actually rebuild the party by that time. Not that that...

10. what the extreme left like murtha and obarmy really think about the poor...   (23 Oct 2008)
On Thu, 23 Oct 2008 03:52:13 +0200, abelard <abelard3@abelard.org obarmy... "small-town Americans cling to guns and religion and xenophobia out of bitterness over lost jobs" murtha "There is no question that western Pennsylvania is a racist area" then he tried to squirm out of it...only to dig himself further in "This whole area, years ago, was really redneck" then there's that tribune of the common people, biden biden "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is ar...
