Thinking about joining a local ski patrol. Spoke with the head of the patrol at the one local hill, got many of my questions answered. The downside is that wouldn't be able to start any training or anything till next spring.
Any suggestions, thoughts or ideas to give?

If you are contemplating a Nissen fundoplication, think very carefully about how badly you really need it. Hello, hubby and I and our 18 month old are pondering a move from Sydney to the central coast (where I grew up...many moons ago!). We kind of like the Avoca area as it seems to have a lovely community feel (not to mention the beach) - but this is of course based on visiting and not actually living there.
To that end, I'd be interested in hearing from people from up that way who have an opinion (good or bad) on what it's like to live there. For example, is it a complete nightmare at holiday times...

OK, now for a thread that's actually about HT.
After the go around I had with the Samsung dual format machine and Casino Royale, I have begun to think about this:

So, it's developed a problem with the hammer catching in the half-cock notch. The local shop owner (his smith wasn't in, but he looked at it) thinks it's hitting the pin and bouncing back. I had it apart tonight, and didn't notice any excessive wear on anything, so I think it's a weakened mainspring.
It's been a little inaccurate since I got it (Soaked the barrel in solvent and recrowned, so I'm not sure yet. It can only have improved), so I'm thinking about taking advantage of the current marke...

There is a local flea market in my area that is open 7 days a week, and my hubby and I were thinking of opening up a shop. Anyone think that's a good idea? There aren't any in the area that I know of, and I would love to really get a scrapbook community going here. (I'm sure there are more of us than I think, but I can't seem to find many!)
