What do you think about the rules and locking of threads?
(03 Nov 2008)
How do you members of psu feel about this concern?
Notice:Everyone has a right to there opinion. Please no bashing the admins and mods. If bashing of mods and admins occurs I will not hesitate To report you.
My Opinion
I think sometimes the mods and admins go a little over the top when it comes to locking threads(No insult intended). But I would rather have threads locked then getting banned.

Computer Locking
(17 Nov 2008)
Does anyone use any physical means of locking their computer?
I am thinking about getting locking cables to secure my monitors and tower to each other and the wall. I already have a lock on the case to keep people from getting to the internal stuff, but if someone really wants to get in, they could...
Do you think it is a good idea to lock up your computer paraphernalia?

When to use a locking clip
(22 Nov 2008)
This web site is very helpful -- and has given me a lot of things to think about.
We have two cars, a 1996 Honda Civic sedan and a 1995 Honda Accord station wagon. I also sometimes install my car seats in rental cars.
Since my cars have latchplates that slide freely along the belt path, I have always followed the car seat manufacturer's instructions and used locking clips to install my car seats. The seats always seemed like they were very securely installed -- they don't budge.
While reading th...

An alternative to "LOCKING" threads ?!?!
(05 Nov 2008)
First, let me say "IBTL" on my own little thread here ha ha.
I refuse to comment on the "rightness" or "wrongness" of locking out threads.
But it does seem a lot of thoughtful, well-meaning, NON-FLAMING members are trying to discuss politcal issues that relate to opinions on RKBA.
Basically, people have varying levels of eloquence and emotional control, as is expected, but what may be a reasonable discussion gets locked because of 1 or 2 comments.
I've seen the ability for mods to "delete" posts...

locking differential
(15 Nov 2008)
Is there a best way to lock up the rear differential?
Can the differential be left locked up while parked and engine off and then started again (diff still locked) and away we go.
Thinking about a snowfall getting worse after parking and needing the rear end locked to get moving.

Locking the gain-free Spotlight and Sunset modes at 48 shutter
(20 Dec 2008)
Hey all!
After reading just about every post here and elsewhere concerning the holy grail desire for gain-free footage, I think after all my testing (on my HV30), I no longer see the practical need of the TV / "cell phone trick" method when Spotlight and Sunset modes produce identical results.
There are still a few misconceptions as to what these gain-free modes do, and although I'm by no means the first on this board to identify everything below, let me break it down the best I can for those wh...

What do you think about legislating morality?
(13 Nov 2008)
This is my personal opinion:
I have been burglarized, and had the wonderful feeling the police did not give a rat's ass. My friend was burglarized five times, every other Saturday, and the police didn't do anything. I had my gorgeous 400$ bicycle stolen out of a u-lock, plants stolen off my porch and my car broken into three times.
It occurred to me that if drugs were legal, the police might have the personnel to actually do something about the rampant property crime in this city. They might hav...

Locking Threads
(15 Dec 2008)
I'm steping out on a limb here, but as of recently the number of threads locked and the reasons for the lock seems to have gotten out of control just a bit. Please, admins allow for civilized discussions to go on without forcing your own opinions and locking the threads and telling people to go place their discussions in another similar thread. What makes these forums so great is valued opinions and hot topics that are brought up to the front for easy casual reading.

(19 Oct 2008)
hi peeps, got a naff ickle daily runabout that has central locking but only operated by the key itself. one of the barrels is getting a tad tired so was thinking it might be usefull (and easier/cheaper) to add one of these keyless remote locking kits.. seen 'em on fleabay
anyone fitted them.. are they reliable/piece of piss to fit.. or nowt but a pain in the arse?
did think about an alarm that would work the central locking too.. but the extra wiring, boxes etc would get a little too much to tuc...
