looking for a new mouse

I use an MX1000 for the desktop, but my shuttle box (also a desktop) needs a new mouse. Odd shapes don't go well with me, its just not comfortable, looked about and found a few options:

Mouse pads

Not the biggest part of a gamer's setup but having a good mouse pad/mat couldn't hurt. Was just googling around and came across These FUNC mouse pads - Read they were pretty good. Was thinking about getting this one.
Anyone have these so called 'pro gamer' mouse pads? My mouse pad is old and never seemed to get along with my mouse (Logitech G5) too much, plus it's loaded with weird chemicals for some reason, it really stank when I first got it. Just looking for any recommendations. Lots of other...

New Mouse, Mx 1100

I'm looking at getting a new mouse and was looking @ the Logitech MX 1100 and was wondering if any of you are currently using this mouse & what you think of it.
I'll be upgrading from my trusty old MX700 so this will obviously be a big upgrade from that.
Every review i've read on it said good things about it, so i was just wondering if any of you have one & what an OCC'er thinks about it.

Hello, I thought I'd post this tip that I stumbled upon today in Logic Pro 8.0.2.
First off I am temporarily using this apple mighty mouse. I'm not sure what I think about it, but thats another post... While messing with the mighty mouse scroll ball button assignment in system preferences, I was curious as to what the "button 3" assignment did. Buying latest models of gaming mouse

So i am looking to buy a new mouse, my logitech mx518 [arguably one of the best gaming mouses ever made] is nearly dead. Ive had it for a few years and its served me well but i am still a bit upset about it.
I am thinking about the G5 2007 edition or the G9. Both these mouses are apparently pretty good.
The G9 is a bit pricey though, and whilst the specs on the G5 are an improvement, many people say the ergonomics on my current mouse [ the mx518] are just superior in every way.

Right now I'm looking at three different kinds.
Logitech v470
Razer Pro|Click Mobile
and
MS notebook mouse 5000
Im looking for
-precision for light FPS gaming
-customizable button for expose
-overall reliable mouse
I'm also interested in
-rechargeability
-battery level indicator
-forward and back functions
BUT as far as I know, there's nothing that fits all of that.
What are ya'lls opinions?

Do you need to install the software in order for the option for dpi options to work? On my Logitech's I don't need to and rather not.

Logitech MX518?

My old mx1000 is dead and I'll need to buy a new rodent. I'm leaning towards the MX518 since it only costs 30 or so euro, plus there seem to be quite a few MX518 users here (Zofo, Piglet, ...), and a forum search reveals nothing but good opinions on the mouse.
Overall, is the MX518 worth the 30-35 euro, or are there better options in this price range?
Any specific drawbacks to be aware of?
