Ten Useless Matters
by Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim
There are ten useless matters:
1. Knowledge that is not acted on.
2. The deed that has neither sincerity nor is based on following the righteous examples of others.
3. Money that is hoarded, as the owner neither enjoys it during this life nor obtains any reward for it in the Hereafter.
4. The heart that is empty of love and longing for Allah , and of seeking closeness to Him.
5. A body that does not obey and serve Allah .
6. Loving Allah without followin...

Size Matters!
As a guild we are dedicated to RVRing, defending keeps, and basically trying to find destruction in RvR. We are looking for like-minded people who are more interested in getting in a fight than waiting 3 minutes to flip a bfo. We are at the front of the battles and slaughter destruction en masse.
Our guild structure is simple. I am guild leader in name only and everyone is an officer. Everyone has equal say and there is complete transparency. When making a guild decision it is done...

Why Honesty Matters
(08 Dec 2008)
Quote: : Being honest and open with others is often the more selfish action. Your relief becomes another's burden.
Some have held the view that honesty is an act of selfishness. I'll agree that honesty is as much for ourselves as for others, but I'd like to suggest that this does not in and of itself render it valueless. First of all, when you get right down to it, everything we do or don't do (as the case may be) could be considered an act of selfishness. When parents have children, they do so...

Opinions - Please!! Crazy Family Matters
(27 Nov 2008)
Ok, I'm going to start with some background - so bear with me ya'll. This will be long, but without the details it wont make sense.
My parents split up when I was 3 (35 years ago) I lived with my Mom and my sister (from my moms 1st marriage - she was a teenager) here in Canada. She met my dad here while he was travelling across Canada and the US back in the 60's. They hooked up, had me (the love child) and stayed with him for a couple of more years until they moved in different directions. All w...

He managed to cut $85 from his weekly spending on things you don't even think about. he put it in a savings account and saved over $4600 in that year!!! he made his own laundry soap and saved like $70 for 288 loads of laundry and it works as good as tide. How does intramural tennis work at colleges? Particularly the UC's, if that...
(19 Nov 2008)
I realize I have started a similar thread asking about how college tennis works in general; however, that thread opened up a few more questions that have ultimately confused me some more as I tried researching them.
Let's say this year I apply, and make it into... UCLA (I hope...).
Now assuming I've made the move on campus already. What do I need to do to get involved in intramurals?
From what I've managed to look up online...

UCLA info 2
Apparently I need to associate myself with an...

Size matters not.
(03 Nov 2008)
first off; no, im not talking about lightsabers.
i was just wondering how everyone felt about character size. i know its a fairly trivial subject, and personally i consider myself to be impartial to character size. at the same time i think its worth noting due to the way it was handled in kotor.
for those who dont know, your character size scaled up the more melee combat focussed your class was, eg. the soldier/guardian class was the biggest.
i think this makes sense because clearly if you dont...
