Well i know this could well be a controversial subject for some, but lets keep it civil, I for one am quite excited by the election of Barrack Obama, i think it is time for a change, and am optimistic that only good will come of it, i have yet to hear how Obama will consider the fair deal trade that Mccain was a 100 per cent behind for NZ, so am hoping Obama will follow suit.
As for our upcoming elections, the american election may well reflect on voters here , thats for sure, they may also thin...

I would be very interested in hearing what people think about Sarah Palin now. It seems that aides in the McCain camp are throwing her under the bus. They have leaked that she didn't know Africa was a continent, that she didn't know which countries were part of the NAFTA agreement, and believe it or not, they are sending a Republican National Committee member to Alaska to take back her clothes!
I have also heard that her approval rating in Alaska dropped by 20 points or so. If so, why?

Politico runs a story today with several high-profile Republican names who might be, in some capacity, interested in a 2012 run for President
Yeah, it's early, Obama isn't even officially President yet, and 2012 is still 4 years away...
But for a party in decline the way the Republican Party is right now, one has to think that if they don't start whispering and talking about 2012 now, they won't get any traction and won't have any chance to actually rebuild the party by that time.

Maybe. But here's something to think about too. If we're going to pay for Medicare and Social Security, then we need each succeeding generation to get larger to pay for those entitlements. If the generations are getting smaller, then we're in big trouble, and that is precisely what is happening. So how do we close the gap? Immigration! But it has to be the right type of immigration. We should be opening up the doors wide open on H-1 visas for professionals. And we should at least be ackowledging...

I'm not a big fan of either McCain or Obama. I was going to write in Ron Paul on my ballot. Ive been told, that since Ron Paul has not "registered" as a write in candidate in Arizona, my vote will not be counted.
