Meridian 596 with Progressive Scan vs PS3

Hi all,
I did some tests recently with my 596 (with progressive scan module) against a Denon DVD-3300 versus a Sony PS3.
My test DVD was Pixar's "The Incredibles". These are my findings...
The DVD is a pretty amazing picture and I used it as a reference.
The 596 with progressive scan is actually marginally better but you have to look hard to see the difference (but it is there!)
However the PS3 with upscaling seems visibly better than the two DVD machines. The picture is crisper in nearly every...

Meridian with Pass Labs sound

Hi, This is my first posting in this forum, hope to get some insight into my current issue.
I am using the 568 processor now, and YBA2HC to drive B&W N803. Recently, I am thinking about upgrading the amplifier to Pass Labs XA100.
Does anyone have any experience on this combination of sound? I am a bit concern if 100 watts of sure Class A is about to drive N803 musically and enough punch for HT applications.
Please advise .

And now think about core competencies that may not be the huge competitive advantage that they might have been in the past

Knights Landing to Meridian

Has anyone been out in the KL to Meridian area? I know a few of the guys fishing for salmon said they saw a sturgeon or two rolling, but I was wondering if anyone has targeted the big fish in this stretch of the river yet. I'm thinking about giving it a try New Years day. I'm not an expert with sturgeon by any means, but I would like to give it a try. Is it too early for the big fish on this part of the river??? Thanks for any help or advice.

Now i want to buy a G61r, but I'm afraid of that multichannel SPDIF out are MHR encrypted, what do You think about?

I'm new to this site but over the last week I've looked through lots of forums and I haven't really found an answer to questions I have, so here goes...

I've decided after all the forum members' helpful advice that the weakest link in my HiFi "chain" is probably the Audiolab 8000a so, armed with about £800 to spend and going down the second hand route, I've done some digging around and have shortlisted to:

Now that HD audio solutions are now available in both modified player and HDMI (modified Cypress CLUX11SA) form, it might be interesting to see how much revenue Meridian is likely to lose by delaying its solution.

Recommended Record Decks through DSP5000s?

Sorry to dare to suggest this but is anyone out there using their Meridian kit to listen to Vinyl records AND getting good results?
I have an 18 bit DSP5000 trifield system with 565 Z3 and a 562V with phono stage.
When I bought the 562V, I added the phono stage because I had a record deck and about Vinyl 100 records. I was however very disappointed with the sound.
The record deck I was using was a Sansui 222Mk2 with Grado cartridge. I know this wasnt the highest quality turntable at the time but...

OT: Guys, more interested in the movie side of things, than music. Appreciate K is top of the tree at the moment and Sooloos sounds promising. Has anyone had much to do with Nivues Media systems and what are your thoughts? Unfortunately I don't have $15k to splash on a Sooloos or $30k on a K system, but can pick up Niveus for under $8k. I appreciate it is Vista Media Centre, but Niveus appear to be doing some smart things with the interface.
