Thinking about getting a new guitar need some opinions
(28 Nov 2008)
Hey there people of guitar noise!
I currently have two electric guitars, (I won't go into what other instruments I have) one is a Mexican Fedner Stratocaster from around 2001 and another is an Ibanez JS100, thats the Joe Satriani signature.
I enjoy playing both, the Ibanez gives me a meaty sound and is much easier to produce pinched harmonics on but theres something rather pure about the Stratocaster. The strat has a good variation of sounds, you can switch from Hendrix to SRV with the flick of...

Best Mexican restaurant in Australia?
(25 Nov 2008)
Ok, now obviously no-one has eaten at each and every Mexican restaurant in Australia, but it would be cool if you could offer your opinions as to which ones are great and why.
Obviously the stat of affairs is pretty woeful overall, with most folk thinking that montezuma's actually passes as half decent mexican.
In Brisbane, at least, the best is by far El Torito in West End. No bullshit, simple but delicious food in an unpretentious setting.
What are your picks?!

Another Mexican Revolution?
(05 Nov 2008)
What if there was another Mexican Revolution? What a nightmare, for Mexico and also the United States.
The Mexican Revolution (1910-1929, if you include General Escobar's attempted putsch) was, like the American Revolution, a brutal civil war. It was in many ways a class war. The two main sides were called the Constitutionalists and the Conventionalists, but the conflict resembled the English War of the Roses and the present-day Congolese civil war, in that it involved a confusing number of fact...

Gel Wraps vs Mexican Wraps for Boxing?
(24 Dec 2008)
I was just wondering which would be better the traditional Mexican wraps or maybe some of the gel ones? I do some heavy bag rounds and have been experiencing some pain in mainly my middle knuckle on my right hand. I also occasionally have some bruising when I do rounds with lots of power shots and I bought a pair of gel wraps today and used them for the first time, under my gloves for my heavy bag training.
I didn't have any knuckle pain...so I think I'll go with them for now...would there be an...

Dear Mr. Elias,
The "new scenario" for the anti-immigration lobby to ponder would be to employ the many immigrants that became citizens of the United States and the many teenagers of average to low-income families legally in the US. can do the jobs in Hotels, Fast Foods, construction by the many skilled workers legally here from all other Latin American countries.
I believe that the Mexican Labor movement and trying to convince American workers that "they will not do these jobs, no...
