Thinking about moving

I used to be in the lineman apprenticeship program in Houston and had some things come up that caused me not to be able to continue. I have since thought about getting back into it since I still have all my tools, etc. I would rather move away from Houston since lineman don't get paid as much as other places. I have considered New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Washington and would like peoples opinions of the climate and such of these states. Pro/cons, nice things about living there...

Catholics in Mexico

I've been hearing about all the horrible murders and drug cartels creating such war like conditions in Mexico.
And I was thinking about the fact that Mexico is about 90% Catholic.
How can there be so much murdering and killing when those people are always praying and going to Mass.
I mean when ever I've been across the border as a tourist. I see pictures and other religious objects all over businesses and homes.
They seem to be very religious people. And very dedicated Catholics.
Yet on the news...

flying to new york...cheap flights/ holidays to mexico

me and bf are thinking about taking a trip to new york early next year for my birthday (and so he can visit his dad who lives there).the cheapest im finding flights is for about £350 each for return tickets. is that cheap? im a bit clueless as i haven't travelled further than europe also, what airlines are best for direct flights. lots of flights are coming up as 1-2 stops and there are some that do direct flights. i'd much rather have a 8 hour flight than something much much longer as i dont li...

Hi all!
I'm planning a trip to Northern New Mexico (SF, ABQ and a day trip to Taos) in June and, food being a huge priority for me, have spent a lot of time researching where I want to spend my food dollars. I'm looking forward to enjoying real, honest NM cooking because I just can't get this where I live (NY - Long Island). I would love it if you could give me your opinions on the list I've put together and maybe even your favorite dishes/specialties at these places.

Calling near the Mexico border

I delivered a car last week to a customer who owns a 33,000 acre ranch in far-southern California. It is located 5 to 8 miles miles from the Mexico border, in eastern San Diego County. We talked about old cars for a while, then I asked if they hunt the ranch. They do not, but said I would be welcome to call the coyotes anytime, as long as I gave them a day's notice.
Sounds great so far, doesn't it? But here is my concerns. I'll list 5 pro's and con's of planning a return trip. By the way, I aske...

Yes there are, but all they way deep around the urban part of Yucatan.
I think there are about 3 or 4 but some problems are going around and might close down. So Hurry!
There is one I think that starts with an R. It has food that is better then adequate!
Amazing!
They have a special cheese mix I think.
