Up until Kanye & Luda leaked, I had been exclusively listening to mixtapes. This isnt something I do on the reg, as I usually give them a once over & keep it moving. But in my extended listening, it became clear where the mixtape stands in relation to retail albums.

Does anyone else think its wrong what happening to Plaxico Buress, He accidently shot HIMSELF!, no one got hurt,... I heard that he was legally able to carry a firearm its just that he didnt renew his license. I think the police should handle this and the NFL shouldnt take any action against him. Think about it, there was the denver bronco dude who was shot in the head, there was the jaguar who got shot like 16x, joey porter got shot in the ass, steve smith of the giants was robbed by his driver...

OLD TY TEK MIXTAPE

I'm heart broken!!! I have lost one of my favoite mixtapes I've had for at least 10 years. It was a Ty Tek mixtape from shit maybe 97/98, was a red tape, it was funky house(a la DJ Dan, Charles Feelgood) had the "Whistle Song" track and some older Propeller Heads tracks.
Anyway I got my tape player hooked up and have been thinking about playing THAT tape for almost a week and I can't find it.
Does anyone still have a copy of this tape(if anyone can tell which one from my description) I despratel...

Nowadays I wonder if rappers actually put effort into mixtapes. Or maybe they dont fully recognise the potential of mixtapes. Lil Wayne did and that got him a mill first week. 50 Cent knew it and he got some major record sales as well.
I hate it when rappers say they recorded over 50 songs for the album and cant pick the best then release weak mixtapes.
Dont get me wrong, any mixtape is better than nothing - free music - but if they put some real effort, they might get more fans and actually hyp...

I'm just wondering what people here think about him. I dl'd a couple of his mixtapes, and he's straight IMO, but nothing special, he has a real boring delivery/flow. Makes good music, just nothing spectacular.
