Andrew Field's post in this thread got me thinking about Photo Mosaics. I remember trying to get my Pentium 75 to make one years ago and it taking a couple of days to process. Now it takes about 10 mins...
I've played around with various (free) software packages available and have so far come up with the following:

DIY glass tile mosaics

I got quite a few questions on my mosaic tank in the photo gallery, so here's what I did and what I'd do different.
DIY on my two mosaic tanks.
The first tank, a 20 gallon standard has 1 inch glass mosaic tiles glued to the glass of the back wall. I used a caulk gun and Silicone I (no additives!) and put a dab of silicone on the back of each tile and stuck it in place. Do this in a well ventilated area!

I want to start a new project, making concrete? mushrooms and covering them in mosaic as garden art. am thinking approx 50cm tall. i have never made a mold before and dont know where to start.

Grout advice please!

Hiya,
I am new on here and just looking for opinions
We are in the middle of doing up our kitchen and have gone for black slate effect tiles on the floor, which we will be using grey grout with.
We have also gone for a small row of black 'mini brick' mosaic tiles just above the worktops. Would you go for grey or white grout for these? Me and my husband can't decide!

Hard to find OOP Mosaic

Hello!
I was a "lurker" from years (!) and I hesitated to log in only for my ugly english. But I am an avid Mosaic addict, and where I live, in the far east provinces of the Empire (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (Italy) is very difficult to find OOP Mosaic sets. Of course, I ever used Ebay like a gold mine, but now, with "only" 42 items from my goal (all the sets minus the Miles Davis LPs), I meet some difficulties with sets that are priced very high.

Missing my babies that didn't make it...

One hard part of breeding is dealing with the loss that you can have. I've had quite a bit of sadness over the past month thinking about how 2 of my babies would have turned out. I'm missing my last two that didn't make it. One of my ferrets got a hold of one of the babies it died instantly and the mother jumped on the other and it went into shock and there was no hope. They were SO beautiful - their parents were Ryerson's chins, a mosaic and a black velvet. Gosh I miss these balls of fur.

Tiling inside a hot tub

Has anybody ever tiled the inside of an outdoor jacuzzi?
Right now it is just bare cement and I thought it would look good all tiled up.
I'm wondering if there is a special type of adhesive for underwater/hot water conditions.. I am assuming that regular thinset may not be the way to go....
Thinking about using some 5/8" mosaic tile made for a pool.
Any thoughts?

First of all, Happy Holidays!
I was thinking about re-reading the whole series, this time in the correct order, and I thought it would be awesome if we all did it together, starting with the new year. What do you guys think?
My idea is that we read about one short story per week. The prologues, epilogues, and interstice chapters we read in 3 days. In the case of the mosaic novels or solo novels, we read one chapter per week.

Deciding on your herd. How did you choose?

Hola CnQ! Lately I've been thinking about the future, about what chins I'd like to have and what genders, where I'd put what, etc. So to the breeders, here is my question.
How did you decide what color mutations (and standards) you wanted other than pedigree, blood lines, quality, etc? Was it just color preference, like the pokemon 'gotta catch 'em all!' or just something you felt wasn't being bred enough?
How did you decide where you wanted every one to go? Other than who compliments who, etc,...
