1. The shave within a shave ( or, the bottomless rabbit hole)   (15 Nov 2008)
Hi All, Well, I'm sure many readers are aware of the fact that there's something weird going on here. Yeah, this 'hobby' has a bit more to it than just some simple whisker whacking. Although shaving is a daily chore for most men, many of us have found a way to change the experience into something delightful. Hehehehehe how weird is that? Of course, a lot of it's in our motivation. We all have our reasons for wanting to take the time and make the effort to improve on something we're forced to do...

2. Opinion on starting online shave supply store   (12 Nov 2008)
Hi B&B Members, I am looking for your opinions on starting an online men's hygiene store, where we can go to to buy products that are popular for men ranging from deodorants to shampoo to shave gear. Would just be a small shop that would cater to men and be affordable, and also thought that a used items section would be nice as well. Products I would consider (imo) Burts Bees for Men. (They have really nice natural soaps and body washes, as well as their lip balms) Shampoos (Redken for Men, Amer...

4. Has Straight Razor Shaving Been What You Expected?   (16 Sep 2008)
I tried straight razors once and gave it up because I was too lazy to strop/hone. But after deciding that I wanted more than safety razors, I tried it again. I've been shaving with straight razors for a while now and I absolutely love it. I can't imagine how someone could even think about using something else. It's been everything I had hoped for. The shaves are superlative. My skin is smooth and irritation-free, which is a BIG thing for me.. I love the fact that I don't need an expensive razor...

5. Shaving... yes, face shaving...   (08 Nov 2008)
Until about a year ago, I was using a Gillette Fusion razor. That's the one with 5 blades and then the extra blade on the back for the tight spots. At that point I was not any form of Buddhist to speak of, but I was sick and tired of shelling out 3 or 4 bucks per cartridge - it was such a waste of money and resources - and I figured there had to be a better way. Not too long after that, I had acquired my very first double-edged safety razor... this is the kind your grandfather probably used. It...

6. Do you think Sarah Palin is "shaved"?   (05 Nov 2008)
Do you think she shaves her snatch? I think about things like this all the time. I'll see a woman crossing the street and I think to myself yuck she probably got a forest down there... So what do you douchebags think?

7. No Shave November :(   (19 Nov 2008)
I am a member in an intentional living community where we choose different challenges every week. Well, this one extended into a month... No shave November. That's right. Guys and gals alike, no shaving. Period. My Gillette misses me Anybody else tried something of the sort? On a more positive note, think about all the soap I'm saving for next month

8. badgerhair brush, shave soaps   (02 Oct 2008)
I use aerosol gels currently. Convince me why I should change, i've heard people like soaps. I was looking at picking up two MAMA BEAR shave soaps, read a lot of good things about it (and not too expensive either) The tubs are 4oz, any idea how long a tub this size would last? (i shave 2x a week) Also, i need a shave brush. Have read badger hair is good, but NO IDEA what to look for. Does this item seem decent for the price? i know i should stay away from synthetic fibre brushes http://cgi.ebay....

9. Travel shaving gear recommendations   (12 Nov 2008)
In this economy and with the holidays upon us I am asking members of the board for their opinions re travel shaving equipment-what are you guys using for travel in terms of razors, brushes, soaps etc? I believe DE blades are a not allowed on planes correct? I have my eye on an omega travel brush that should do but am open to suggestions especially with regards to creams, soaps, shave sticks, etc. in addition any recommendations for a case to package all the goodies? Thanks!

10. Shaved or trimmed?   (15 Nov 2008)
Just curious how you deal with excess body hair or as my ungrateful bitch soon to be ex-girlfriend refers to it as fur. As it currently stands I already shave my head and my nads perhaps once a week or so. But it grows back pretty fast, like a month after it'll already be an inch or two long again. I tried to shave the area right above my nads but I started getting a few ingrown hairs, so now I just keep my bush trimmed. I also have a hairy ass, after but trimming that, especially the area betwe...
