WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD???
Plato: For the greater good.
Aristotle: To fulfill its nature on the other side.
Karl Marx: It was a historical inevitability.
Machiavelli: So that its subjects will view it with admiration, as a
chicken which has the daring and courage to boldly cross the road,
but also with fear, for whom among them has the strength to contend
with such a paragon of avian virtue? In such a manner is the princely
chicken's dominion maintained.
Hippocrates: Because of an exc...

Why Did That Damn Chicken Cross The Road?
(13 Oct 2008)
I thought I'd relieve some election year tension:
Why did the chicken cross the road?
BARACK OBAMA: The chicken crossed the road because it was time for a change! The chicken wanted change!
JOE BIDEN: That chicken personally called me and said, Joe, he called me Joe. He said, Joe, with all your foreign policy experience, what is your opinion of my plan to engage the other side of the road?
JOHN MC CAIN: My friends, that maverick chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to enga...

Drive.
(18 Nov 2008)
I got in my car Friday night. Sat behind the wheel at 11 pm and started the engine. I grabbed a cigarette and lit up. The aroma of nicotine quickly filled the car and I felt my frustration level sink a little. I backed out of the parking spot and just began to drive with no destination just to get away from what I am forced to call home. I do this often. I let the music caress me until I am no longer upset at the world. I just began to drive. The Subaru isnt the best for long trips as its stee...

TAT Fall 2008
The Planning
When Chief and I were in Mexico last May we decided to do the TAT together. We picked the end of September so it would be cooler and not as busy at work. I purchased the maps from Sam for AR, OK and CO. I loaded every turn with a waypoint into map source; it ended up being a little over 750 of them. Others have said that map source routing would not work but I did not have one issue with any of the routes I had made. There is a section in CO just west of Delagua that i...

--Part of my book--critiques accepted
(06 Oct 2008)
Hey everyone. This is the first part of my book I'm posting for critique. It's probably annoying to read a random part of a book when you haven't read the whole thing, but this is a part I was working on today and I'd really appreciate your opinions on it, on how to make it better, etc. This is from later on in the book, near the end actually. Sorry I didn't post the sex scene, I'm a lot happier with that and the stuff I need help with is the end chapters.
I appreciate you guys wanting to read i...

Our 2008 Summer Holiday,
France Spain - France
Not having been to Spain before, our main objective was to visit as many areas for two to three days as the time allowed for, in order for us to get an idea of what Spain had got to offer us. After reading Peters article Orf to Find the Sun last year, we had decided to follow as much as possible of Peters 2007 holiday route. Then if we go next year we would know where we wanted to spend time and where we would not want to go
Saturday, July 12t...

My Ups and Downs in the Utah 1088
(03 Nov 2008)
Guess I should jot a few notes down about my first Utah 1088 before my old brain can't remember what all the fun was about.
The ride from Sth. CA was hot, really hot, I remember that much. Damn I hate slabbing it!
Here's some pics from Friday afternoon and Saturday before the start.

The Kids Are Far Right

Found this humorous piece today. Thought I'd share it. Actually there is no humor per se, or opinion on part of the journalist, but you get a funny idea of what kids minds are filled with, for better or worse.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Its a shame you have to be here, to give up a week to learn about conservative ideas, a man named Patrick X. Coyle is announcing to students assembled at the twenty-eighth annual National Conservative Stude...
