Champions League excitement once again
(14 Oct 2008)
I am up early in the morning to get our tickets for the Athletico Madrid away game. The match is over a week away but the excitement is already growing.
I will be outside the ground at about 4.30 am to make sure we get ours as we have less than 3000 and there will be 10- 15000 reds over there.
I think about 4000 people have the neccessary qualifying requirements ( 4 euro aways from last year & a season ticket) so I will be heading to the front of the queue just to make sure we are not dissapoint...

My Winning Guide.
(27 Oct 2008)
I see some people, saying they have taken maybe Weston Super-Mare to Champions League glory, and it gets me thinking, how?
My biggest achievement to date is winning the Uefa Cup with Bristol City, and that was in 2012-2013, fair enough a half decent achievement. However, its the final hurdle which is hard. Winning the league or the Champions League. I have a strong squad with players like Stancu, Obinna, Vidal, Jefferson Etc, but what I need, as do many others, is the push to finish the task.

Score Another One for Putin
(29 Oct 2008)
Quote: ON A CHILL FRIDAY NIGHT IN OCTOBER with seconds left to play in the most anticipated hockey game of a young season, tied three goals apiece, Avangard Omsk, the pride of southwestern Siberia, and Atlant Mytishchi, an upstart from the Moscow suburbs, have players from seven countries on the ice young men whose hometowns stretch from Canada to Kazakhstan. This is professional hockey in Russia now, at its best. And across the land of the old Soviet sports machine, whether the place is a rin...

FedX presents Epic XXXVIII: Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
(23 Oct 2008)
The giant screen hums into life and a close up of the Fed-X World Heavyweight Champion is broadcast out into the Conseco Fieldhouse. The image is met with the expected hostility from the sold out crowd, as The Vigilante has an ice cold glare in his eyes, and seems deadly serious with whatever it is he is about to say.
The Vigilante: Last week I was beaten in under three minutes, by James Faith. I cannot explain this to myself, let alone explain it to all of you. But being the man that I am, it e...

Nick @ Night Chat Wrap: November 13, 2008
(14 Nov 2008)
Nick Sakiewicz: Good evening everybody! Nick here. Hope everyone is getting ready for the Chicago vs. Columbus game tonight. It should be a real good one.
heynow: This is indirectly Philly MLS related, but can you shed any light on the concern that has been expressed on a certain internet message forum that the Linc possibly doesn't have appropriate field dimensions for FIFA events like a men's national team WorldCup Qualifier or World Cup matches? Thanks Nick
Nick Sakiewicz: The Linc is appropr...

A realistic approach to difficulty levels
(21 Oct 2008)
After not being flamed for mentioning difficulty levels (probably because it being unnoticed as I expected) I thought I'd raise this issue again in a separate thread, being aware that there have been various discussions on the issue which saw the OPs be flamed and got responses from SI, saying this will never happen.
But please, before flaming me for still bringing it up again, please read carefully as I assume to make a valid point and maybe have a different and new idea as to what difficulty l...

Worth the wait: Super Pibe interview
(14 Nov 2008)
Quote: : Pibe #7 It will take as long as it took for me to write all this for you guys to finish reading it.
On a scale of one to ten, how devoted a Barca fan would you say you are?
Without a doubt i can say im a 10.
Honestly though i would say im a very devoted Barcelona fan in my opinion. I may not be able to go to games, buy a lot of their merchandise which some people on this forum think makes a real fan. But for me supporting this team through the ups and down, so much emotion flowing whe...

Says Something About President McCain
(02 Sep 2008)
It would appear that McCain's first big decision may have been somewhat premature. The article is only a paragraph - I posted it more for the replies.
McCain certainly has captured the center of attention with this choice. Given this type of exposure, Obama can just remain quiet and let McCain reap the reward of his decision.
Funny thing is, she didn't appear all that bad to me. Yes, she wants gov't in a woman's womb (never understood how a woman would want to cede other woman's rights like this...
