thinking about crossing over to the dark side...
(31 Oct 2008)
thinking about crossing over to the dark side... ey guys new to Toyota forums. I have been a big fan of awd drive cars but now the family is growing so I was thinking about an SUV. I really love the looks of the 4th gen 4runners but have read that people have a lot of problems getting into 4wd. Is this a common occurrence? I am really leaning for the Toyota but am also checking out the xterra and pathfinder. I used to drive a jeep wrangler TJ but wont ever go back to Jeep. The jeep thing is not...

RRFF Review - something to think about
(10 Oct 2008)
This post is not going to make me the most popular bloke on here, but sharing opinions and providing information is the greater purpose of this website so Ill have a crack.
As an Ausfisher (with a background in science) I was at one of the recent RRFF meetings and was astonished with the way the DPI&F estimates of recreational catch and the varying estimates of the stock assessment (5 estimates ranging from conservative to less conservative) were immediately discounted as fudged figures and ...

Knights Cross L/12 Opinions Please!
(12 Oct 2008)
I need some help with a Knights Cross, but I'm not able to post pics. Would anyone be willing to receive the pics in an e-mail?
I don't like it, expecially the size of the maker mark, the lack of defintion on the frame, etc. but I would like for some to weigh in as well.

Cross Stitch
(21 Sep 2008)
I know that there are knitters and crocheters here, but are there any fellow cross-stitchers in the world of Librivox?!?!
I have 2 big pictures in progress right now, & was thinking about posting a picture.
Cross-stitching does take a long time, but I love creating my own art/home decor.
(I can't always find time to read aloud, but I can find quiet time to work on this hobby most evenings.)

Hybrid Setup Question: 16 gauge multi (main) x 17 gauge poly (cross)
(30 Aug 2008)
Thinking about this setup since I break at crosses all the time (Yonex 850 (16) (mains) & Cyber Power (17) (crosses) ). I figured I can get more playability out of the 17 gauge poly.
I am concerned with the polys cutting through the multi's since it's thinner. Should I reduce my tension on the crosses or mains for this reason?
thx.

What do you think about porn? *56k*
(11 Nov 2008)
I know it's been raised so many times as a topic, but it's a good topic for discussion and I thought it would make a change as it's been boring the last couple of days.
Anyhoo, what do you think about porn? It's probably crossed your mind once or twice. Certainly has for people at my school with dirty minds.
Anyway, what is it to you? Do you think it should be allowed? As they say in songs, is the internet FOR Porn? And the big 1 penny question is: have you looked at some?
Topic Discuss!

Thinking about the next wooden track
(14 Nov 2008)
Yes I know I haven't even finished my new auto cross track, but I am thinking about my next wood track. I have 2 sheets of MDF, 4 foot by 32 inches wide each. I want to arrange them in an L shape, outer dimensions being 6 foot by 4 foot with each leg being 32 inches wide. My goal is to get a modified figure 8 track with a 5 1/2 foot straight away and an elevated cross over section to have both lanes be on the outside on opposite ends of the L sections.
My guestion is how do I design the track so...

My do-everything Cross-Check, is it all possible?
(08 Oct 2008)
It seems every other thread I read around here has someone eventually praising the Surly Cross-Check. It has made me think about a possible build of a Cross-Check that could function as a every day, all day, every where, all weather do everything type of bike.
One of the biggest pros I hear about the bike is that it is so versatile. So can anyone tell me if all of this is possible (or if it is just silly) on a Cross-Check.
